Just wanted to say HI... Thank you for helping me find the MAF plug on my MINI .
Speaking of that, has anyone installed a performance chip at the MAF plug on 2008 MINI Clubman? The Diagram shows 5 wires but my plug only has 4 wires. Thanks for your help harlm1kw

I can tell you that those "performance chips" aren't very good. If you do a search on "unichip" here, you'll likely read similar opinions.

The MAF "chip" is a load of BS. It will just trick your engine into thinking the air temp/flow/whatever is different than it is, so that itll dump fuel and supposedly give you power. Any tune worth its power will be some sort of ECU reflash. (RMW, Accessport, ect)
and like Lady said, Unichips are a load of fun but notoriously unreliable... No fun losing all power in the middle of the freeway! (they are a little better in the 1st gens though)

Now if your talking about the ebay or sub $40 Maf chip it is a scam and isn't going to help out all, it most likely will give you a check engine light.

But if your talking about the MAF modules like they have for the 335i BMW, they work on the BMW, but don't work on the MINI.

Custom ECU tunes are where the real power is, a remote tune is prob your best option.

Bensmini Hi I gat the chip hooked up and it make no difference in performance , it made my car produce more fumes you could smell them in the car. LadyGodiva told me it was a waist of time and money, plus a few others. They were right.. see YA!!
