Car looks great. Mine is a week or so away and getting excited seeing all these new JCW's getting delivered. I am sure I will see 100 in the first hour, lol. There break in proceedure is bit to conservative to me and I will go with my plan that seems to get the job done right. Witht he new very slick oils they are delivering these cars with it sometimes can be a problem getting the rings to seat properly. Wife 350SLK burned a quart of oil every 500 miles after it wwas broke it. She babied it and the rings never got seated properly and she was a lemon and i got it replaced my MB-Not easy!. When we got the new one I broke the car in a lot harder than the first one. It was perfect.
Those cars came with 0W15 Mobil One. Pretty slick stuff to break a motor in with in my opinion. Back in the day you only run Slick Synthetic oil after the car is broke in with 10k miles on them. Same is true for diesels today. I will not be afraid to run up the RPM's for short bursts varying the speed and rpms over a wide range. I will not floor it and hold it there for extended periods but I will work the motor in with some high rpms runs.

When younger we broke 2 snowmobile engines on identical sleds at the same time. My buddy stayed with the never more than 1/2 throttle for the first 500 miles BS. i drove mine like I stole it from minute one. It was doing over 100
5 minutes after warm up. The results. my sled rocked the entire time I owned it. It was the fastest 440 around. My buddies. It was a dog. Never pulled strong and was weak and burned more fuel. Motor blew up 2 years later with low miles on it. Mine was still rocking for the guy I sold it to 8 years later. Just my experience. My rule- break it in how you plan on driving it.

Holy crap Ivan. 1200 miles already? That's like 10 times around the island. You and Summer are driving *fools!* Wait until you can *really* drive the new ride for a distance!
