New owner of old Mini

Greetings. I just got a 2007 MC with under 14K miles. Just a few options: premium package, auto climate, and heated seats. It looks like it was a lease return. Just put new Blizzaks on for the winter. Tried out my 'old school' Ronals (1982) that will be the home of the OEM tires in the summer until they wear out and I can get something sticky.

Please see my post in the General MINI Talk forum. Hope this works. (Why is MINI capitalized, anyway?)

Welcome aboard. Your link didn't work for me, but I can answer your MINI question. The new, redesigned BMW version that was introduced into this country is designated as MINI. The old classic version that was first built in 1959 is the Mini. You can check out my gallery to see how the two versions compare in looks.

veggivet: This link to my other post now works for me:

Yes, I autocrossed my MGB against a classic Mini 35 years ago (and the driver, she had only one arm). (I don't recall the results.) It just seems odd to me that MINI should be capitalized if it isn't an acronym. Did BMW not (or could they not) buy the rights to "Mini"?

Now there's a great idea for a new topic. What would your acronym be for MINI? How about Marvelous Invention; New Idea (for the transverse mounted engine)?

Welcome to the forum, it makes a nice way to differentiate between the two similar but different cars.
