With the $500 in savings, I can put that towards Park Distance Control. For those who have not seen it, here is PDC integrated into the Nav screen on my friend's 2010 Clubman.

And your logic is very clear about the reason why the visual boost should be part of the Mini Connect hardware, AND pricing. This may be easy to straighten out and may be due to having a salesman who got confused at ordering a new part for the first time (my hope and expetation, anyway). Is there some written guidelines for this order that I can show the salesman/dealer that will easily clarify this?

Thank you for offering to look at my order sheet. But since it looks so obvious that you're right, the more productive course seems to be to find something that shows them how to place this order. If I showed you my sheet, I assume you'd just say, "yep, it's as I said ..." So, do you know where I can find something that instructs them on how to do this?

By the way chakram105, thank you so much!
I am not sure where it would be listed, in relation to dealer ordering sheets. Everyone on this tread and the countryman order treads with mini connected, have only paid 1000 and 1750. I feel its a mistake in your order or MA. Are you in the US? Im personally putting in an order tomorrow morning, so Ill do my best to get some answers. But NxtMINI will be asking his dealer tomorrow about the armrest. It seems some have paid and others have not. But its supposed to be included. This is what Motoringfile has to say on it:

"MINI USA is pricing Connect rather aggressively at $1,000. Not bad considering that you get Comfort Bluetooth with armrest and Smartphone prep (a $750 + $100 value) in the package. That means you are getting all MINI Connected features, the hi-res screen with joystick controller and full iPhone connectivity for only $150 more."

"One of the best parts of MINI’s options pricing is that, for only $750 more you can get the full navigation system with real time traffic info. And remember this is a ground up redesign of the system with internal solid state memory and not DVDs. Maps can be updated through a USB port in the glovebox. As a stand along option MINI’s new Navigation system will list for $1,750 – cheaper than last year while including all the features of MINI Connected."

Yep, I'm in the US. I'll be very interested in what you learn when you place your order. I plan to call my dealer tomorrow to see what they have to say. I'll post my results too. Good luck to us all!!

Update! Catherine on motoringfile actually just ordered a 2011 MCS with MINI Connected and Oxford started building it Nov. 4th, so it looks like they’re producing the non-Countryman models with MINI Connected earlier than we thought.

I emailed MINI asking about the armrest and when the iPhone app will be available in the app store and this is what they told me:

"The MINI Connected iPhone app is already available in selected countries. Further countries will follow soon. Please ask your local dealer for detailed information about the release date in your country if the app is not listed in the Apple AppStore yet. Your local dealer can also give you information about the armrest option since price and complete packages can vary from country to country."

So basically ask your local dealer about any questions you may have....

I'll talk to my dealer later on this afternoon and hopefully get some answers.

Chris

I put my order in today. Looking like its going to be Week 48 for me. 1750 for Mini Connected with NAV and the arm rest was 250. So I asked. We then figured it out. The car originally had the armrest speced at 250. When NAV was added, it stayed the same. So we took off the armrest and that took off NAV. We added NAV back on and it added the armrest at NC. So just a bug in the system, to get the armrest for free, the dealer needs to add the NAV on the order, without the armrest option speced before.

Dang it… you guys are getting earlier production weeks than me. Wondering if that's due to my dealer or the fact that I'm building a JCW Clubman?

Just checked with my MA again and mine is listed as week 50.

Is there a way to order just the Nav and not the MINI Connected stuff that I will never use?

Happily, my car's pricing seems to be straigntened out now too, with the Mini Connect for $1000, the Convenience Pkg discounted to $750, and N/C for the arm rest (that I'd prefer to delete if I could, so I'm glad I don't have to pay for an option I don't want).

I'm glad to see/read that everyone's options seem to be charged correctly. Congrats to us all!! And thanks for everyone's input as it helped me in my discussions with my dealership.

I checked with my dealer today about the arm rest, but they couldn't tell me anything cause the system was down Hopefully tomorrow I'll get an answer.
I did add the ZC2 package to my MINI, for me it added free Comfort access (I ordered the rest of the items in that package already) but of course that package couldn't be added today cause the ordering system was down.

I did not order an armrest, it was automatically added (at $250) when the order went in with Connected+Nav. Will need to speak to my dealer

Mine was originally a 2nd week of Jan '11 production, but my MA made mine Priority 1 (Car Sold), the build weeks are based on the certain dealer's allotment, each dealer gets a certain number of models for the build month, that is why some people with a cooper model, would be built before a clubman or JCW. Both Clubmans and JCWs are not produced as much as the Cooper Hatchback model. JCWs normally take longer in general.

So my build week went to week 48 (First week in Dec), since MINI will want to get as many sold cars in before end of the year. My MA had to find a model for me, as he did not have any Convertible S models for production this year. Another dealer helped out. Yet my Owner's Lounge still has the wrong specs.

How Strange, I ordered my car today, and the system was up and running. I ordered at 11am Eastern and it was still up at 3pm when I called and figured out the armrest thing. See my previous post.

Nope, its either MINI Connected for 1000, or MINI Connected with NAV for 1750, but its much cheaper than 2010s, as that was 2000 alone for just nav, and this gets you all the bluetooth stuff and mini connected for 250 less. And you dont need to order the Auto AC with it anymore.

I see you ordered Rear Park Distance Control Good choice. Not many people order that option. It integrates well with the display screen.

If you need this option on a car the size of a MCS, maybe you should go back to drivers ed . Admit it does look cool on the screen

Bad news: My dealer is holding on the $250 for the armrest

Good news: My MCS is apparently already in production and has been assigned a VIN . No update to that effect on the owners lounge yet

Chakram105 ordered a convertible. Many convertible owners here on NAM complain about the poor rearward vision when the top is up. For this reason, it makes sense for Chakram105 to order Park Distance Control for his convertible.
