New To Minis - My 2009 Clubman is Great
Have been in Beamers for over a dozen years. I drove a Z3 and my wife has had a series of 5's. Solid cars, reliable and powerful.
I picked up a 2009 Clubman S a week ago last Friday from an Acura dealer. It was tricked out with chrome rims, gas cap and air vent. The front two tires had been replaced by the dealer under a California Safety law provision.
It has the premium package with leather sport seats, automatic tranny, navigation and Satellite radio. Panoramic roof set in a black top with a Chili Red body.
Was going to shoot some shots of it this afternoon but it rained in LA. BTW, I have lived here continuously except for my young adulthood on the road with rock and roll band(s) and I can count on my fingers the number of times there has been lightning bolts. Some years, in August we get storms blowing off the southern Baja waters and there is some lightnng but in the last two weeks we've had two such lightning and intense downpour weather.
Anyway, the Mini is a wonderfully engineered car, steers like a go-cart and accelerates like a bat leaving his cave. Didn't have the docs for the first week and I worked things out including the intermittent wipers, front and back.
It is the best car I've ever owned. I just touch the accelerator and move the steering wheel in mms.
First thing I did was to buy rubber mats and that came in handy this week.
The TPM is working on my last nerve as it signals a three PSI drop in my right rear. It doesn't affect performance or handling but it so annoying that I add air in the rain to my right rear, a very un-Californian thing to do.
I don't know the Mini very well but almost everything I know about it has a trade mark 'thought out' approach.
Will post some photos soon. Any advice on the leaky tire? Sealer?

Welcome and congratulations! Can't wait to see the pics.
I would first check to see if it's running stock run flats or if the car was switched out to normal tires. The usual applies: check the tire thoroughly for spikes, tacks, tread damage. While it's true tires change ores sure with temperature swings, it's far less so on low profile rubber and with the weather you're getting in la. I suspect you have a slow leak.
I was born in LA, now in the SF area, and my mom was emailing me today about that lightning storm. Love it!

Congrats & Welcome! Get that irritating tire repaired or replaced and motor on. Having lived in Westlake Village and San Francisco I must say CA has no shortage of fun MINI roads to travel. Enjoy!
