Drove home my new baby tonight, pepper white with "Special edition" (name i forgot hehe) aerodynamics,decals and driving lights. Bought it at BillJacobsMINI in Naperville, Illinois. It's been in the showroom and been told that "it's been taken to shows". It was hard to turn down a $3,500 credit program they're running right now so took the plunge and traded my 07 FJ 6sp all time AWD. I know of some changes for the '11's, most notably the 9 hp increase, for the deal i got it was well worth it and then some. I have been an owner in the past, had an 03 S and was even part of the group to see the "italian Job" prescreening for MINI owners . Got the deal i wanted and very very happy with BILL JACOBS specially the sales man Jason. Had a terrible time with the other dealership, i'll leave at that. My former member name is BLUDOG, but can't seem to remember my PW as it's been a long time since i last visited the website and can't log on to it. I'm happy to be back in the MOTORING family. From what i can tell, the TC is smoother in power delivery than the SC ( i might be wrong), the 03 that i had had a tighter, heavier but lil bit more precise steering, it goes where you point it. the interior had come a long way. 03's seems subdued compare to the new interior.

Well, any suggestions and tips are welcome. Anyone know where to buy a modestly priced JCW catback?

Welcome back. I too am a MINI expat returning to the fold. I had a Honda element in between, and almost had gone the fj route. I'm waiting for stateside delivery of a clubman s.

Congrats on the new Mini. They really are great cars. Sold my Mini bought an FJ. Now looking to get back into another Mini! Funny how many of use have similar tastes, right?

some dealer down here in socal are running some crazy deals to clear out 2010 inventory. one had $4k off of msrp right on their website i'm so tempted... but already made my order for the 2011.

 

Hi fellas thanks much! I'm happy to be back in the family. My FJ was bulletproof and loved the torque, but for the last year i've been having this itch, salivating for a MINI cooper S. One test drive in the TC'ed and that's all she wrote. The special they were running was the icing. Sorry no pictures yet, i'm currently out of the country. Yea.. left Ms. Golightly after the day i drove her home :(. Had the vacation already planned and all set to go, my sweetheart has to wait 3 weeks for my return. I'll post pictures as soon as i get back. Me and her are going to have a photo session.

How did you find the cargo capacity of the FJ? I went with an Element in my case because of being able to carry the bikes upright inside, etc. but I do love the FJ in concept. Especially when it pretends to be in MINI drag...
