Hello All:

New member here, Rustys' '05 rag top. Just got my first Mini a month ago and fell in love.. It is awsome.. I take it out whenever I can. I have not had it in the rain since i got it. . I don't want to get it wet. It is Cool Blue Metalic. Changes color the way the light shines on it...
Two things I havn't figured out. The factory radio seams to go staticty alot and doesn't stay clear on good stations.? Any help? and the back up sensors. I am not sure where the signal comes from when u r too close?
What book should i get to better help me tinker with my Mini? Thanks so much for your help. Soon it wil be going in the storage for winter.. I don't want my baby to get cold.

Glad you love your MINI, but there is no reason to cocoon it for the winter, MINI's can easily tolerate the weather, Pittsburg isn't the arctic. If mechanicing is your thing, get a Bentley Manual. The base MINI radio is not very good, if great sounds are what you require, then a replacement will be required. I don't have back-up sensors, sorry.

I've given up on radio (except for NPR) as the DJ's are usually obnoxious and there's too many dang commercials. I was lucky to get the Bluetooth / iPod package so I can just play the music I want to hear, but even if you don't have that you should have an aux port (the R56's I've seen have them but not sure about the 53's) where you can plug an MP3 player in. Not saying this is the answer, but maybe it's an option? Good luck.

Love the posts. I got some answers for my back up sensors. the fuse #41 was blown because of the power stearing fan motor was froze up. I jacked the cabrio up and spun the fan with a thin screwdriver spraying silicone spray in the fan motor housing till it turned free. I replaced the fuse and now my back up sensors work great. I am not sure if the motor runs all the time or after the power stearing unit gets to a certain temperature. But the fuse has not blown yet so I am thinking the fan is working. Will have to get more pics.

The State Road crews throw stones on the roads around here to give traction. They are murder on paint jobs and windshields. We have to replace an average of 1 windshield on each car every winter here.. Ouch.. what a pain.. Had it out today... Love to drive that car...

Like having the top down. How do u keep the marks off of the top once it is put up. There are like rub marks on the cloth where it is folded in the boot.
I see you have the chrome covers on the rear roll bars. I think they really dress it up with the top down... Good Show!
