Great Gadget or Goofy Gimmick?

What would you like to see MINI Connected do?

For that matter, what does it do now?

...and can you retrofit it on a 2006 with NAV ???

 

Call me lazy but I think it would be slick if I could use the voice recognition to something like this... When I'm leaving work I could say "Text my wife to let her know I'm on my way home." and it would send this via text message to my wife's mobile.

 

How about 2006 with no NAV???

 

i've read that it's a $1k option and a really good one over the ipod/usb $500 option. i would wait and get this option if i wanted ipod/usb. you get the lcd screen (good interface menu), nifty joystick, bluetooth streaming music/voice, and a bunch of other perks.

 

FYI -- looks like Mini Connected (and Nav) are now part of the online configurator!

 

So, my lovely wife starts listening to Christmas music on Halloween. Actually this year, it was a couple days before. So on Sunday, we're driving to church and she gets the idea to start looking for Christmas music. Certainly some station MUST be playing 24 hour christmas music. I remind here we're barely the middle of November.

Then it hits me. With MINI Connected being able to tap into web radio, we could certainly find a web radio station to listen to. But alas, the new MINI is still waiting for a boat to float it across the ocean...
