Hey Everyone I am new and need help with tires!

I just signed up for the website. Love my mini, but have to replace the tires. I have 18 inch wheels and have goodyear run flats now. The dealer recommended Condi tires, but they are $1200 for four -- seems really high.
Any thoughts or suggestions. Any thoughts on whether run flats are better than air tires? Kendall

RunSmacks are definitely are not better than "air" tires, they don't ride the same, they don't sound the same either.

I won't be much help on a tire in an 18" Rim Size, but I put on some Brigestone Potenza G019 Grids on my 16" Bridgespokes last October, love the Tire. Up here in the PNW (Rain Capitol) you really need a nice All-Season that cuts through the standing water and ocassional Snow, I bought these on recommendations from other MINIacs and am very happy I chose these.

Good Luck!!

on RJKimbell's advice.

This is a great time to ditch and bury your run flats for once and for all. You will be amazed how much better your MINI will drive with real tires. I run Bridgestone Potenza Grids. These tires perform well in all seasons, ride well, handle well and are not too noisy. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....Model=Cooper+S

Of course your driving habits and environment will make a difference in what tires are best for you. My MCS is a daily driver in diverse weather conditions, so all-seasons tires make the most sense for my situation.

Shop around I'm sure you can find some 18"ers for less than $300 each. Forget the runflats!
