You have much to learn, grasshopper.
Start in the Cooper (non-S) forum. That should give you a starting point. Lot's of options, lots of opinions. It will give you some good nighttime (and daytime, break time, lunch time... reading)

There isn't a lot one can do power wise to an R50, your best bet is going to be in suspension mods.

Hey JontXu. Welcome aboard! Like you I was in the same position when getting my 03 r50. 17, still in high school and mod fever. I've got the same intake, love it, sounds nice too. As far as a catback, the Megan Racing is amazing, not real expensive too. Got it from WayMotorWorks.com for $429. Sounds amazing, not ricey at all. Give its a little burble here and there, and under hard acceleration its not too loud, but gives you that thunder you're looking for. Its a real head turner, literally. Other mods you should look into is tightening up the engine, TSW damper helps a bit for its money. Like BensMini said, the suspension is where you want to tend to, that'll really unleash the true MINI. Have fun, and enjoy!
