Getting ready to order

I need to get a new car, and my wife loves the MINI convertible. So, we went to the local MINI dealer yesterday. They didn't have any 2010 models in stock that we liked, so we'll probably be ordering.

I've heard about engine problems with the newer S models. Is that true? Timing chain tensioners, plugged turbo oil lines, and check engine lights were what I was hearing. Are there still problems with the newest ones? Or have they gotten most of that stuff cleared up now? I would prefer a S, but if it's got a much higher likelihood of problems, then I would go with a base.

Thanks!

No problems with current new S's, go ahead and get one.
