Week 25 - 29 Production Support

Well, I managed to find out I'm in for week 29 production. Ouch! I put the order in on June 14th and got the production number on the 16th of June. Why the huge wait for actual production? Is the dealer giving me the run-around? Seems odd to wait 5 or 6 weeks to even go in to production...

Anyway, I'm still excited. I've spent allot of time planning the purchase and am excited to be at this point.

I've ordered the following:

2010 MINI Cooper S
Body Color Roof/Mirrors
Chrome Line Exterior
Chrome Mirror Caps
Horizon Blue Body Color

PACKAGE
Sport Package
White Turn Signals
Xenon Headlamps w/Power Wash
Dynamic Traction Control
17" Web Spoke (Perf. Run Flats)
No Bonnet Stripes
Convenience Package
Universal Garage Door Opener
Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror
Rain Sensor and Auto Headlamps
Comfort Access System
Comfort Bluetooth w/USB/iPod Adapter

PERFORMANCE
Rear Fog Lamp
6-Speed Auto w/Agitronic Mode
Dynamic Stability Control
Front Fog Lamps

COCKPIT
On-Board Computer
Cloth: Checkered Carbon Black/Black
Alarm System
Leather Sport Wheel w/Multifunction
Interior Surface Brushed Alloy
SIRIUS Satellite Radio
Smartphone Prep with Comfort USB
Interior Color: Carbon Black
harman/kardon Sound System
Sport Seats
Chrome Line Interior
Automatic AC

ACCESSORIES
Cosmopolitan Floor Mats
4 Valve Stem Caps MINI Logo
4 Wheel Locks
Chrome Bonnet Scoop
Chrome Dual Exhaust Tips
Roof Spoiler

If you're in week 25 through 29 Production, please check in and let us know what you ordered and how you're coping with the WAIT!!!

SATopWater, your MCS sounds GoRgEoUs! I, too was given a waiting period, but mine started much quicker than I imagined. I'm currently waiting for mine as it's gliding across the Atlantic as we speak! I'm stricken with 'The Madness', honest-to-goodness! I have already gone out twice this weekend, JUST to look for MINIs (I'm in love with the boot and the tail lights, design perfection)!!! It's like trying to get a fix or something. I've been looking at racing stripes and ordering a stubby antenna, badges and everything. My MINI-lust is its apex. So, I'm here for ya buddy. We're a couple of weeks apart, but don't be afraid to lean on a shoulder here!

Mine is Laser Blue Cabrio
Convenience Pack
Sport Pack
Cold Pack
Premium Pack
Smart Phone Prep
Sirius
Rear Fogs
PDC (It was highly recommended for Convertibles)
Union Jack Scuttles (don't know if I'll put them in..starting to like the checkered flags more!)
iPod Adapter (I hate clutter)
Carbon Lounge Leather
Urban Floor Mats

I hope to get driving lights eventually, but had to stop the cost somewhere! Looking forward to your pix!

Sounds great SunnySkies. If yours is traveling across the ocean, you should be in it in a few weeks it sounds like.

I'm starting to wonder if I should have gone for the "Chrome Bonnet Scoop" and "Chrome Mirror Caps"....I'm concerned now it may make it look to gaudy....Hmmm

Yeah, they say it'll be the 1st to 2nd week in July! Hmm, well the good news is, if the chrome is too much (And really, can there be too much shiny, chromey goodness?). You can always change either one with manufacturer and aftermarket products (They have the Union Jack, Black Jack and Checker caps). I've seen some rather cool carbon fiber scoops & mirror caps. Plus I've noticed some private sellers on here and on ebay that sell their own mirror caps online. I'm going to look for black caps when I get mine. I got the premium package which means I'm gonna be stuck with some chrome I'm going to have to tone down, but I like shiny stuff, so I'll probably keep much of it.

What date does yours arrive in port?

SATopWater, I wanted to get back to you and let you know that my MINI is now at the VDC! I'm so completely excited! 911bratmike, it's brilliant to see your name again in these boards! I find myself following people's MINI sagas on NAM. I can't wait to see what both of your cars look like in the pix that you are now COMMANDED to post...Hee Hee! Hang in there fellas, not much longer for both of you, it's amazing that they're able to get a car built and send from England in 4-8 weeks.

So how long a wait will it be if I order at the beginning of model year 2011?

Can you get a car that you order below msrp?

The chrome mirror caps & hood scope should look awesome, especially on a darker colored car.

I'm thinking of getting a cooper s convertible, do I really need the pdc?

Thanks Becs'

Congrats Sunnyskies!!! Yeah, we need to see some pics w/ the top down in "Sunny Sky Weather."

Btw SATopWater, I believe mine just went through production; this week was the week the agent had confirmed for production. It should be on its way soon. I wrote my agent on Wednesday and I haven't heard from him. And he still hasn't given me either number to track it. I think the military ordering process works a little different ( and apparently slower ) from regular civilian orders.

Generally speaking, it's much harder to get a break on price if you are ordering... especially if you are waiting and ordering a 2011 at the beginning of the model year.

BecsToy, you might be lucky to get some free accessories or some floor mats thrown in, but generally, as a rule you probably won't get much of a discount on the price of the car if ordered. Remember, they want to get the ones off the lot, and they're not in a hurry to discount one that they're gonna special order. To answer your other question, I just got a MINI S Convertible and I highly recommend going with the PDC PLUS the rear fog lights, as a soft top driver we need all the safety we can get. Happy ordering, can't wait to see what you go with. You're gonna have to wait a bit til those '11's but I'm sure it'll be worth the wait, the '10's are pretty fantastic!

Post Edit: 911BratMike, I'll do you proud in gettin' those Sunny Sky Pix!

Sunnyskies, aka TopGun, viper says to get that thing back above the harddeck. Na never mind, have fun! Glad you got yours. Waiting for the Pics!

911bratmike, do you have a production order number? Nothing? Are you overseas in Germany? Did you order from there?

Copy that SATopWater! Tell Viper, I'm gonna 'establish international relations' with enemy fire and I'll be back once I get the Polaroids. Er. Wow, seeing that in writing kinda sounds inappropriate! Anyway, stripes get on in a week (it's a zany color combo, but I LOVE it!), I wanna publish pix like yesterday, but I feel that with the stripes Neptune will be complete! I haven't seen a MINI on the road yet that I can wave to, so that bums me out a bit. However, got my new stubby antenna on from OutMotoring and after some help from my handy sister, got my grill off and installed my two Badge Holders (with totally fantastic badges from CooperFlags!). Can't wait to show y'all all of its wicked brilliance!

Yeah Perry. I still do not have a production number, which is odd. He had an order number, which I think is slightly different. I ordered it overseas in Germany through the Military Sales Program while my dad was stationed over there. And now, I am waiting for it to cross the pond ( hopefully at this point ) before school starts.

Peanut61, I asked my MA and got the production week. For you though, it sounds like it's right now, which "I believe" is week 28...not positive though. The reason I think that is that mine is week 29 and I was told it would start production next weeeeeeeeeeeeeek.

911bratmike, I wonder what would happen if you called 866askmini and told them you don't know your production order number, but gave them your name or some other identifying information, maybe they could help?

Sunnyskies, I am happy for you. We will wait patiently for the pics.

Now, what to do for another WEEK...

Just got my chassis number...Mini in transit ( Oh yes !!!! )

It's weird how 18666askmini can't track military sales Minis, but when I called the number it said, "mini in transit."

Today is a good day. I saw the first real sign of something happening.

On MINIUSAs website, the status changed from "On Order" to "In Production."

On 866AskMINI the status changed from "In production with no confirmed production date" to "In production and is expected to be complete on 21 July!!!" (Ok, ok, I threw in the exclamation points myself)

Very cool.

Was just thinking, from all of us we have:

- Just delivered (SunnySkies)
- In Transit (911BratMike)
- Awaiting Transit (Peanut61)
- Starting Production (SATopWater)

Oh yea, we are getting closer.
