Week 25 - 29 Production Support
time to start motoring
it seemed to take for ever but i will have mine in hand today...Is there a Interchange Yellow club on here?
Uh oh, I can't find my MINI...I hope it's on k-line or else who knows when it will be here....
I went in to order my MCS a few weeks ago and was told that I couldn't order a 2010 anymore. The dealer found one that was very close to my wish list already on a boat for another dealer. They worked out a swap and now she's mine. Except I'm playing the waiting game too. Dealer said it would be in port on August 2, but the shipping company puts it in on July 28th. I'm hoping the dealer is just being conservative with their ETA. I'm going nuts. Hopefully will get it in a week (or less). Can't wait!
I love this car. I think mini goes a little overboard with some of the chrome. I still have to take it back to the dealer and have the black drive lights put in the grill, all they had in stock were the chrome ones.
Time to tell you all a little story...
I placed an order for a '10 DS/BLK MCs with all the bells in whistles... well minus some whistles. I eagerly checked the owners lounge for updates daily... no that's an understatement. a couple times a day haha. The car arrived at Port Hueneme on July 27th and was scheduled to be delivered on August 4th. Since that day I've been calling the my MA almost daily to get updates but everyday was the same. The car has been released to the carrier but the trucks have yet to pick it up. There's a huge backup at the VDC. Blah blah blah blah. So today I call and my MA informs me that he got an email saying the the car that I ordered was unfortunately deemed as "Unable to be sold as a new car" by the VDC. So here I am 16 days after my little mini made it to southern california to be told I'd never get to drive her.
Today was definitely a sad day. My MA did say he'd order a 2011 MCs for me for "almost" the same price pending the release of pricing for the 2011s. Looks like its another long wait for me :(
...but ultimately can't complain about the extra horses under the hood...

Your MA and Mini AKA BMW Should sell you the 2011 with all the bells and whistles for the price of the 2010 you ordered and screwed up. It only right. if you raze a little stink with your MA and threaten to call BMW AG. you will get what you are asking for.
SATopWater, 911bratmike, I keep checking this thread for you both! I commend you both on your saint-like patience! I'm gnawing at my pencils for y'all! I won't rest until you both are safe with your MINI's and that's a fact...Still your wingchick here! To everyone else, congrats!
Thanks Sunnyskies.
I found out this morning that mine has made it to the VDC in Charleston.
So, hopefully not to much longer...
I found one thing of note when I checked AskMINI and the MINIUSA Website this morning...So far all along the way, AskMINI has had more up to date information than MINIUSAs website. Not so this morning, AskMINI still has my car waiting at the port for a shipping vessle, where as MINIUSAs website has it at the VDC. The VDC is certainly correct since the MA told me about two weeks ago it was on a ship. Anyway, just an interesting side note.
