Hi Guys!

I just picked up a lightly used yellow, white top 2003 MCS. So far I like this car and has been pretty fun.

I am starting to learn about the weird quriks with the car such as the passenger side window sometimes struggles to go up. I read that the motor seems to be the common cause.

Anybody got any newbie tips? Thanks!

Welcome! While these cars do have their quirks, just think of it as "personality"

As for newbie tips, think of it this way. Any question you are going to ask has probably been answered, so the search button is your best friend

Save you a little time...
Search the threads (and your car) and look for:
* Strut tower mushrooming
* Door sill rust

Two common things you may have missed (I did!) when buying.

Note at 100k+ you may start getting the expensive stuff or stuff that accumulates in cost. Off the top of my head.
-supercharger rebuild/waterpump gears
-keep an eye on accesories belt that drives supercharger they wear so does the tensioner
-motormounts get worn
-front control arm bushings (kick the fron of your front tires if it wiggles its the bushing)
-if your low power fan never comes on but the really noisy one hispeed does you may need new fan.
-bypass valves sometimes go on these making less boost or laggy acceleration.

Search any of these for more info im sure theres more.

welcome
-Josh

Thanks for all the welcomes,

From twistdpair's tip, I got a m7 strut bar. I didn't look at the tower's yet, I'll figured I try to fix it when it comes time to put the part on. Better worry then, till the entire time the part is in transit.

The door sill problem sounds like a total pain from the searches, I did notice that after a car wash, when they opened the door to wipe dry, there was a lot of sudds there. I figured out why my sills were tarnished looking also from that.

But basically this car has about 48k on it and hopefully, I won't get those 100k problems just yet. I probably get used to all the sounds the car makes soon.
