Another newb and his used MK1

Hi everyone-

Just thought I would introduce myself-
My name is Scott, and my wife and I just picked up a 2003 Cooper (Velvet Red, CVT, sport package, 40k miles) as our 2nd car.

We are totally new to the MINI scene but excited to be a part of it. Of course, after we pulled the trigger on the car I started reading horror stories about the CVT and Midlands trannies but hopefully our luck will hold out

Our other car is a MKV VW GTI. We've been VW lovers for a long time so I know the fun that can be had by being a part of great car community.

As far as plans for the new car go... we are going to have it serviced next week. The carfax said it was serviced at around 30k but I'm not sure they did the tranny flush, so that is on the menu. We will most likely be getting it tinted and maybe putting on some bonnet strips too. Other than that, it's wide open.

I'll post a pic of the car later (need to take some) but until then, here are a few shots of our GTI

Well... looks like we've got our first gremlin... 1 week of ownership (for us) and the power steering is dead... Oh well

Drive em, brake em, fix em, repeat.
