Simple service..........

I just bought a used 03 cooper S. There is no Dealer in my area and have yet to find anyone who seems to have idea where to go for service work other than Dallas or Baton Rouge.I live in north central Louisiana and have some service questions.I've been waiting for 8 weeks to get a owners manual from the car dealer I bought it from. I love the car and I want to make sure I take care of it properly.Anybody know of a good shop in the area I can take it too! Thanks.........Stinky

Try to find a no-dealer to do your service it cost a arm & leg at dealership in Baton Rouge . You can change your own oil by getting a oil filter on line and buy oil from local auto zone or what ever . Easy to Do it your self . I live in south louisiana with a 09 just a cooper . Enjoy your new ride ! El Tiger

For an owners manual you can download PDF:
Go to http://www.miniusa.com/ and sign up for an account in the Owners Lounge area https://ol.miniusa.com/
You must have your VIN to create an account. (Must be a U.S. MINI).
Once in OL go to the [Your MINI] menu.
Currently manuals for '02 to '09 MINI's are available but none for '10.
None of the supplemental manuals, radio etc., are there except for a Bluetooth manual which seems to apply only to later models.

You can download an owners manual at MiniMania
http://www.minimania.com/pdfile/2003...%20CooperS.pdf

and if you plan to do your own maintenance and repair I'd invest in the Haynes:
http://new.minimania.com/web/Item/4273/InvDetail.cfm

others may recommend the Bentley but the Haynes at half the cost has kept me out of trouble . . .

Welcome to the world of MINI, some things can be ridiculously hard to get hold of, reasonably priced service is one of them. Try to find a interested independent service operation willing to work on MINI's. Start with something simple like an oil change, they really shouldn't mess that up, if they do try another guy. Ask friends with foriegn cars who they use.
