New here and got a few ?'s

Hey there everyone,

I'm new to the forum but have been browsing through the threads here for a few days as I am interested in trading in my '08 civic si for something different. I have always had an interest in the Mini. I just wanted to get some of you guys insight on your thoughts about the cooper S in particular. Any thoughts on what years of the mini are most reliable? Also any other thoughts that you may have would be greatly appreciated.

thanks alot guys/gals, hope to purchase a MINI S sooner than later and become one of the crew.

thanks again,
Weston

Welcome to NAM! You can't go wrong with a MINI but if you're looking for more reliability I'd go 2004 and up. You'll definitely be happy you joined the MINI clan

Look for a low mileage S, 2004 and up and you will be happy. I now have two of them.

Well if you are in a '08 Civic, why not buy new rather than a '04 or '05? A nice 2010 JCW might be the answer.

There's a great buying guide elsewhere on this site. Hopefully someone can post the link. Good Luck!

Go to the Mini website and spec out a Mini

Go to www.Miniusa.com and you can price out a Mini of your dreams. They even let you know what it will cost you. It is nice to see what you can get brand new or you can go to the dealers sights for a dealer near you and see what they have in stock along with their used prices.

I have a 2009 JCW and the more I drive it the more I love it.

i just sold my 99 chevy tahoe, and went to an 05 mini cooper s, lol, HUGE change, but it's well worth it man, go 04 and up, you will not be disappointed at all!
And if i remember right, i'm pretty sure i read somewhere that the minis are faster than any honda, not talking trash but, it's cool to say that a mini can haul a lot faster than a "fast and furious" car lol

I will def check into purchasing a brand new one. I just don't think I can afford a new MINI-S. I mean I do have an '08 civic si that will trade in and I only owe $10,000 on it so i def won't be upside down on it, but my goal is to keep payments at or below $300 a month. I also would be curious to know what any of you guys are paying to insure this vehicle.

The more I see the MINI driving around town and on this site makes me want one more and more every day. lol

anyways, thanks for the replies everyone. Keep them coming if you have any other insight on my situation

P.S.---> I like the fact that the MINI-S is faster than the civic si......lol. thanks for the heads up on that.

Just don't load it up with accessories.

When I bought my 2009 JCW all I got was the "Sport Suspension" on it. It did come with everything else I needed such as the CD player/ radio- Air Conditioning- Power steering- Power brakes- Power windows ETC.

The base Mini is $18,800

The "S" is $22,300

Add the $700.00 destination charge to these figures and you have the base prices less your states tax, tags etc. Four year warrenty plus three year maintenance is included in a new Mini.

If you decide to get used the dealers all have their inventory on www.miniusa.com with the sales price and what is on them.
