Finance offers through MINI

Does anyone know a way to find out if the current finance offers through MINI are going to be extended through the end of May? My MINI is on it's way over to the States (yay!), but I don't know if I'll be able to take delivery before the end of the month. (Long story, but I live in STL, and I'm buying my MINI from the dealer in Memphis - so it might be there by the end of the month, but I don't think I'll make it down there until the first week in May.) My MA has told me they don't know if the offers are extended until the 1st of the month. I don't have to specifically have one of the finance offers available right now - do they usually have some type of offer going?

I ordered a MINI in the beginning of March and we are planning on using the 1.9% offer. We asked what would happen if it didn't come in till May. They said that this offer was the first one ever that will stay in effect no matter when you take delivery.

The finance offers are able to be locked in and secured for 90 days (In CA), but the program is set to expire the end of this month and then the first of May we get new programs

I ordered in March, my MA told me that the finance rates were going to be the same for March and April but may change for May when my MINI would be delivered. They promised me they would give me whichever rate or promo was better, either the March/April or the May rates. This was from a dealer in MA.

I find it a little peculiar that everyone seems to be getting slightly different answers from their respective MAs... My new MINI should be about done by now, but still has to be shipped over. I was told that as long as we got the VIN and took care of paperwork before the end of the month I was good with the current finance offers.

That said, at least in my case, the 1.9% isn't as good a deal as the 3.9% with the $1750 option credit for the Premium package. Make sure you run the numbers!

Glad my dealer has nothing on the lot that even comes close to what I ordered or I might be disappointed I did so - this weekend they're doing $100 over invoice on all in-stock manual transmission cars!

My mini won't be in until late May or early July. My dealer told me that they could extend the 1.9% financing, but not the Premium Package special.

that is correct the 1.9% is able to be locked in (in CA it is for 90days but in some states it varies) anytime you rate lock you are able to take advantage of the best program available between when you locked the rate and contracting the car.

MINI did a 2 month program for the current rate so you are right March and April rates and programs were the same and the first of May we will get new programs

Deal right now is 0.9% on convertible or Clubman PLUS a free package upgrade!

A new convertible may be in my future!

New Offer

Madurodave - where did you get the info on that offer? I tried checking the website tonight, but the links to the finance offers doesn't seem to be working. That would be awesome if it's 0.9% plus a package upgrade... I'm picking mine up this week!!

My dealer mentioned it. Go to Mini of Peabody (Peabody MA) and it shows the deals in place.

You are correct - the main site does not show it for some reason. However, if you go to the finance section it calculates payments at 0.9%.

I hope if I go to order a new MINI they will lock me in with the current offer. I saw posts where some dealers did and some did not.

As was said before, it almost seems like different dealerships can make up their own rules. I ordered 4/22 and was told if I am able to take delivery within 60 days, that the 1.9 was good. But it seems like different dealerships say different things, making me believe they each have a bit of leeway in how to offer the program.

So how long do the builds take? Are we looking at less than 2 months then?

My dealer just said the 0.9% and free upgrade are good for this month and next. The 0.9% can be locked if delivery takes longer but the option upgrade cannot be locked in.

It depends on how long the wait is for a build date. The order that was modified to match what I want has been in the system since 4/7 and I am being told 8-10 more weeks before delivery.

Yup, sounds like a great deal. I will be checking it out Saturday. Still not sure about new versus used. Used would have the extended warranty. Also, according to KBB, depreciation is 38% over the 1st year! So I have to factor all this in.

Unfortunately, I can't find a 2009 Interchange Yellow except for 1 with an Auto. But the price difference of that to new is about 15%, not 38% as KBB predicts. It also does not have all of the options I would like.

How ironic. There is a new 2009 interchange yellow S convertible I wanted but the dealer couldn't discount it as much as a 2010 because last month MINI was no longer offering anything off on it or for financing. Some remaining 2009 inventory qualified for dealer incentives and some didn't. Their weak discount of $2200 off on $31,700 has been extended until the end of May.

It is now 13 months old and the listing is completely hosed listing three different exterior colors and options that appear to be from a Clubman. And with the current financing offer it costs at least $1,400 more than an identical 2010. Go figure.

When I ordered mine in Feb they told me that I HAD to be approved by the end of the month to get the 1.9% deal... but my car wouldn't be delivered till end of March. I got that... and here we are in May and the website still shows the 1.9% offer available?

Actually it has changed now. See the post above. 0.9% AND 1 package upgrade FREE on Convertibles and Clubman!

2.9% on everything else.

Do they all have different deals? The MINI of Peabody statement implies 2.9% on JCW (all hardtops). They don't mention anything about 1.9% on Cooper S.

"Do they all have different deals?"

I don't know. My dealer says one thing. MINI USA says another. MINI Finance says a third. None document anything. Buyer beware.

As long as you get it documented on the loan papers, you should be fine.

BTW - my dealer said all dealerships across the country are supposed to have the same finance deals.

The 4.9% on JCW you mentioned should not be the correct rate. It should be 0.9%. I checked the dealer's site. It does state what you mentioned but does not make any sense.

Oh well - buyer beware as you said!
