"As long as you get it documented on the loan papers, you should be fine."

My dealer did not provide any paper of any kind except a receipt for deposit. I had to argue with management to get the verbally promised price and interest rate documented via email.

0.9% on all JCW models or just JCW Clubman and convertible? See how hard it is to get this right when MINI doesn't publish any details? I'm fairly certain that dealers have the option to not participate in financial offers.

MINI Financial told me that if I can get a dealer to document any offer, they will accept it. I laughingly asked if the dealer promised 0%, would MFS provide the funds? They said yes. Methinks there is money flowing many ways between dealers, MFS, MINI USA, and BMW MINI right now.

I will definitely keep that in mind. If I sign a deal to get a car built, I will make sure the finance rate is on there. I also want the free package upgrade on the agreement. It's worth $1750!

I just checked my papers. I didn't get the finance rate on there. I'm sure it won't be an issue though.

The current deal is on for May and June per my dealer. You should be fine.

Since I will be ordering late, I want to make sure everything is specified on there. Just in case!

Well I'm sure they'll honor the 1.9 I was supposed to have.

According to multiple sources, the dealer can lock in a rate for 60 or 90 days (depending on the state they are in) by preapproving with MFS. Some say they can also extend the rate beyond that. I've seen a few month's worth of posts worrying about time from order to delivery but I haven't seen any posts stating that they didn't get the rate they were promised.

That is good to know. I was told by my dealer that the interest rate at the time I sign the contract would be locked in BUT the offer for a free package (such as the Premium Package I am thinking of using it for) would not go beyond the current offer period unless MINI extends the offer.

I just want to be up front with the dealer that is the order goes beyond the end of June to come in I still don' want to pay for the Premium Package. Hopefully this will work.

Did you order a Clubman or Convertible? If not, it looks like the option credit isn't available anymore. Will your dealership still honor that deal?

Actually, the option credit is available ONLY for the Clubman or Convertible. It is good for May and June. That plus the 0.9% is the deal that MINI has for May and June.

Please see the verbage from MINI of Peabody in an earlier post in this thread.

Yes I saw the Peabody site. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. Up until April 30th, there were several deals including 3.9% with an option credit. I locked in 1.9% with no option credit (I hope) because I left a deposit. So I was talking about the April deal, not the current offers.

Sorry - yes, April had 4 different offers I believe? Lower rates versus higher rates and paid options or payments?

Looks like this month they are pushing the convertibles and Clubman with the 0.9% and free package upgrade.

Yes I think you're right- 3 or 4 different options. I'm not sure I like the idea of 2.9% with no option credit so I hope I truly am locked in to the 1.9% deal. Of course, the 3.9% with option credit (previous offer) and the current 0.9% with option credit is much better then what was offered when I ordered. But since I ordered a hardtop, I'm not eligible for the better offers.

"Right now through June 30th, 2010 0.9% on all Clubman and Convertibles. 1.9% on all Cooper and Cooper S hardtops. 4.9% on all John Cooper work models."

My understanding is the financing can be locked in when you order but the option credit disappears if your car does not come in on time.

For example, those ordering hardtops in May could still get the finance if delivery was in June. But you would lose the $1750 Premium Package discount.

How come they don't mention the option credits?

I locked in the 1.9% because I left a deposit when I ordered. If I could have gotten the car before the end of April, it would have been 2.9 with an option credit. When I picked up the car, I was told it was 2.9% for the Hardtops if I hadn't locked in previously. I don't know why that dealership is offering 1.9% now.

I ordered in March and picked up my MINI the other day. I put a deposit when I ordered, and then the finance app was sent at the end of April. I assumed I would get either the 1.9% or the 3.9% w/option credit because that was the deal at the time (through the end of April). But when the finance paperwork was done in the middle of May I got 2.9% w/option credit even though I never saw anything like that advertised...

You lucked out. As far as I knew, the interest rate for the Hardtop was 2.9 with no option credit. Awesome for you!

I was surprised too. I even ended up with a $300 accessory credit!

I don't get why people think the option is really free!
Do the math.....your actually paying double for that "free option" in the end because of the higher interest rate,

Take the 1.9% and run.....for 5 years i am only paying 1300 bucks in interest!!

Leaving a deposit locks you in at that time....so do it!!!

Well its simple,lol...i was offered 1.9%
or 3.9% with free option. The option was worth $1200
Use the finance calculator and it clearly does not pay. You can pay for the 1200 option like i did and still save money using the 1.9%.
