Hello from FL

Recently purchased a Dark Grey ( don't know what the factory name is) 04 MCS, 60k, Bone Stock (not for long), but immaculate..23rd birthday present to myself . Ive rebuilt a few mustangs so the mini was new for me, but I can honestly say I have more fun driving my mini than I did the 500rwhp 02 mustang I used to have..I am officially converted hehe. Nice touch on the stickies, the info provided was extremely helpful!

Thanks, Ill post pictures as soon as I get around to washing it, kind of embarassing lol. The detail dept was closed when I took delivery. The mini is already a blast to drive..just wish I could find a place where I can recreate The Italian Job haha. I was one of those guys who saw it and thought "I wanna do that". Orlando tourist traffic kinda blows, too many brake lights..need a nice sidewinder to open up on

Welcome to NAM, fellow Floridian and Mustang guy.

The MINI certainly is a lot of fun to drive. Neither of my Mustangs are fast, but I realized a few years ago that being fast in a straight line only isn't nearly as fun as a quick, great handling car... hence the MINI and the IRS-into-Foxbody project.

Anyway, be sure to check out Sunshine MINIs, the Florida MINI club. Lots of good people and local events.

Welcome to the forum, glad you are happy with your MINI, you will soon forget the Mustang, I now have to think hard to remember my Camaro.

Yeah, I'm glad I decided to go toward open track racing before I really started building the Fox for drag racing.

The swap is progressing slowly but surely. I'm currently trying to replace all the rubber IRS bushings with Delrin, so that's a lot of fun :/. Better to do it now that later, though.

I haven't ridden in an IRS Fox, although 99-04 Cobras sort-of count, but I've read up on the different suspension options a lot, and I there are a lot of things I like about the IRS.

Yeah, definitely check out the Sunshine MINIs group. I'm not sure where you're from in FL, but it's a great group overall, and good for finding local events.
