'06 Automatic

Hello all,

I just bought my first Mini, a '06 "S" convertible, auto.

It has 43k miles on it and very fun. One question, I have read on the web problems with the auto transmission. This is not the CVT transmission of the earlier years and the Dealer tells me there were many problems. However, the "S" auto is good. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Before I put anymore money in the car, I want to make sure. Thanks for anyone's help and a great sounding voice.

Get the car...you'll love it and it will be a great investment! Sure, there will always be purists who will try to "sell" you on a stick, but as a formet stick shifter, I can honestly say that the MCS auto tranny is why I'll never go back to a stick. It's responsive, has a bunch of variations [D, SD, manual shifter, paddles] and you never have to worry about your left foot cramping up again.

The Aisin built 6 speed auto in the S has proven to be very reliable.

Yes the Aisin 6 speed auto is a good transmission, go ahead with any mods or add-ons you want.

I have just about every mod you can put on 05 S with an automatic and I haven't had any problems yet. It seems to be very reliable.

My '06 MCSa is modded, too, and is just a terrific car. It's a daily driver, touring car, and track car.

Y're welcome. Make sure and register in the Auto tranny owners club in this forum. we're a tight group here. think of it as a safe haven from all things manual

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ners-club.html

The stickies have attempted to start their own club but, like at the track, they're way behind. Must be all those cramped left feet
