Weeks 10 - 14 (Mar 1 - 31, 2010) Support Group
My Clubman was ordered Feb 26th, rolled off the line on March 18, boarded the Talisman a few days later and landed in Baltimore on March 31. Now the brand new dealership is having construction delays and the April 15th opening looks extremely unlikely. With a couple of dealer-installed options, I'm at the mercy of the construction crews.
I can't complain with the speed to this point, but the next few weeks will be PAINFUL.

I too hope so. I know it takes a few days by train to travel from the coast into Ontario & then it'll be up to the dealer.
I'm so nerdy though, just sat here for the past 15 minutes watching the Elektra leave Halifax harbour on a webcam. I missed her arrival this morning bacause it was still dark. She's on her way to New York now & will be there tomorrow.
Time to contact my MA and see what, if anything, he can find out about my MINI's journey across Canada.

Now over to BMW Canada & CN Rail.I took a look again at the numbers of "WMWMF" cargoID's that were discharged today in Halifax after leaving the Elektra and noticed that there are 132 of them. That's a lot of MINI's.
Can't wait to go Motoring! Until then my 2002 Mazda Protegé5 with 250,000+ Km's will have to do.
Your Mazda is probably a step up from my 1986 toyota pickup with 243000 miles. The good side is I probably won't be bothered by the squeaks and rattles the MINI is known for. It will be blissfully quiet compared to my pickup....
I'm going from a 1998 Honda Civic with 87000 miles. I'm sure I will drive a whole lot more when I have a car I will really enjoy, like the MINI!
It seems like we are taking this thread way past March 31st!

Mine was in the paint shop for 4 days too. Actually a lot of other stuff is going on - call 1-866-Ask MINI and talk to a real person, they can tell you exactly where it is. But you may be "released to a carrier" very soon!
I spoke to Nick at ASK MINI yesterday and he said everything is delayed due to the lack of doors issues. He said my car is STILL sitting in QA - been there over a week now. He told me to call back this afternoon for an update, so thats what I plan on doing. This is brutal.
I know right!?!!!
If its sitting in QA, that either means there is some type of issue with it, or its simply held up due to the current production line issues mini is experiencing.
If there's nothing wrong with it (fingers crossed) just send it on its way please!

Yes we are, but it's all just for fun.
I chose to start this thread as there wasn't one for this year yet. There seem to be a lot of you with April production dates so maybe you want to start a new thread for April? or maybe I could rename this thread "Weeks 1 - 52 (Jan 1 - Dec 31, 2010) Support Group"
(I think I can do that as the OP)? Thoughts anyone?
I've noticed that some other NAM members are still updating their "support group" threads a year or more after taking delivery. I love the sense of community that forms around the MINI.

I always took the support threads to be related to members who ordered or purchased their Mini within the time frame of the thread? Regardless this is fun knowing you are not the only one suffering through the wait for your new car!
Thanks tojofi for starting this support group thread!!!

I called Ask MINI today and they said it's held up due to a problem with a stamping machine so production is held up for a couple days. He said as long as they've gotten the machine up and running again it should be on schedule for April 10. He told me that he believes it may be in the paint shop right now and on it's way to final assembly soon. It's times like this I hate being a somewhat impatient person!
I'm certainly thankful for the support of this thread. It's nice to be able to talk to people in the same position. My wife just laughs at me when I talk about it. She doesn't really understand the obsession. I'm glad to have people around to share it with.
