Introduction and thanks!

I have been lurking here for quite some time and finally got around to registering.

We got our first MCS, an '06 (65,000 miles), back in January. The weather where I am, about an hour east of Pittsburgh, hasn't been the best for motoring, so I haven't had it out much yet...probably less than 100 miles so far. It has been hard backing the Jeep out in the falling snow for almost 30 days straight, watching the door go down blocking the view of the blue Mini we're anxiously ready to get out and enjoy.

I have picked up a lot of great info here already and appreciate all those who have contributed to my education so far in one way or another. I did do an oil change already, not being sure of what was in the engine. I have learned the car has been well maintained and that makes me even happier. I found out today the control arm bushings, thermostat housing and water pump have all been replaced (by a Mini dealer) and I have an appointment to get the belt replaced. So, the list of 'could be a problem' is pretty well weeded down.

Anyhow,...that's enough for an intro I suppose! Thanks again!

Welcome to NAM!

Good to know your MINI has been well-taken care of. It's been a tough winter here in the East for MINI motoring. Now that the snow is gone here, I can see all the potholes. More time for the MINI to spend in the garage

Post some pics of your MINI.

We still have, in our county, an average of 28" of snow on the ground. I think we'll have snow piles well into May! This pic was taken in early January a week or so after we brought it home...the snow in the same spot is almost over the hood in height.

Come on guys take the MINI's out in the snow, it's no fun keeping the kids indoors. Put on some snow tires and let them out to play. MOTOR ON!

Plus this weekend in PA is going to be great! At least here in Williamsport it is. I am soon heading out to wash/ wax the MINI and do a full detail inside as well. Getting ready for a day of motoring tomorrow.

We had something to the effect of 80" of snow in February in our county. Much better suited to the Jeep...though the MCS will come out and play a while later today and tomorrow!

Sounds good! We're a little cooler up here than you are. I think you're usually about 10 degrees warmer than we are. Stinks now, but remember it this summer...we have some great roads to motor on!

My MINI loves playing in the snow. It's what happens after the snow melts, and the potholes appear that has both of us disturbed.

You all know that potholes breed under the snow don't you?

More snow, more potholes.

But we are going out today, up to Ct to see family for a couple of days. Good days for driving.
