This seems to be a well known problem in the USA with it being regarded as a safety fault and with BMW extending the warranty to 10 years or 150K.
In the UK dealers act as if they have never come across the problem before but Mini users in the UK have been petitioning BMW for 3 - 4 years but it would seem that BMW are not treating the problem as in the USA.
Has anybody established how the problem can be resolved at a sensible cost as the UK dealers want £65 just to look at the problem and indicate that full repair will cost several hundred pounds !!
Any assistance would be graefully received.
