Since the Tomar is scheduled to dock at Port Hueneme on the day after Thanksgiving, being one day ahead of schedule is probably NOT helpful at all.

 

Just watched Tomar go through the first lock at Miraflores. I could read "Tomar" on the bow. Big Wallenius Wilhelmsen on the side. Pretty cool to see the progress. Full steam ahead.....

 

Ugh, good point, Kevin. I hope we don't have to wait until Monday the 30th before they even start offloading the ship!

LOL, the Fedora arrived in Brunswick on the 17th and my OL still says en route. Oh well...hoping she will hop on a transport truck today or tomorrow.

 

OL is always going to be slow and lagging in current info. Calling the automated 866-ASK-MINI line will give you more up-to-date info, and your MA can often get even more current info.

 

I know...lol just getting wayyyy too excited because my new baby is getting closer. Actually I would like to get the surprise call "come get your Mini, she's ready".

 

I'm probably just as excited, except I'm about a week away! AHHH!

 

Well it looks like the Manon was pushed back a day to NY. It now is scheduled for 11/22 :((

 

I saw, in fact it hasn't popped up a tracking blip on the radar since early on the 19th, and now it's already the 21st. No word on sailwx or WW's website. I really wonder what's up.

Weather looks okay around the Nova Scotia area, where it was last tracked. I feel like I'm watching my grandfather sail through the Bermuda Triangle or something. Sigh.

I called the dealer yesterday to get an update on my MINI. My MA is on vacation, but someone took my name and phone number and said he would lookup my MINI and call me back.

That was yesterday at 11:30am. Obviously I'll be calling again today.

 

Spoke with the Sales Manager. My MINI was released to the carrier (from VDC) a few days ago. He seemed surprised it wasn't there yet. He said it should arrive "any day now, probably Monday or Tuesday." Then it takes a day for them to inspect it and give it a once over. He didn't mention it, but they also need to install the driving lights.

I leave town around 1pm on Wednesday, so at this point, I figure I won't see my MINI until I get back November 30.

VPC should be busy processing our MINI's on Monday. I would hope that we have them on trucks to the dealers by Wednesday or Thursday. Dealer prep for a day - hopefully. I am hoping for a Dec. 6 or 7 pickup. Keep your fingers crossed.

 

MANON is just on the coast of Long Island now, it should be entering the harbor and most likely docking tonight/tomorrow, based on the current lat/longitude on Sailwx. Awesome.

I'm so close to the water in brooklyn, I could probably take pictures as it chugs through the bay... but I won't, because I'm not THAT desperate.

 

Manon is in the port at NYC arrived 4:20am!!

Most likely will have to wait until after next weekend, but I'm still giddy.

 

Manon has left NYC and already chugging along toward Charleston for any southerners awaiting her arrival!

 

Last night, my MINI's status changed from At Distribution Center to At Your MINI Dealer.

At this point, I'm hoping I can pick it up tomorrow and take it to where it will get it's clear protection film. So close!

 

The race is on fox! Who will get their Mini first?

OK, it was a very frustrating and painful experience, but I can finally tell you that I'll be taking delivery of my MINI tomorrow at 5PM ET.

I'm quite disappointed with my dealer so far. One can only hope the service department is stronger than the sales side.

It turned out that my poor MINI was sitting on the lot, no work order entered to get him ready for delivery! Luckily, I was finally transferred to the Finance Manager who tracked him (my MINI) down, realized he was THERE, entered the service order to prepare him for delivery, and setup my appointment for pick-up tomorrow evening.

I'm exhausted... but still excited!

 

Yikes. At least you're getting it tomorrow.
