My story is like many others here (ie. Third Wave & Sonero): A week 37 build, cancelled for one with an HK in week 41, then I was bumped up to week 40.

Production is complete, and the car is at the dock. I'm hoping to be on the Turandot this Friday, and then take an early November delivery.

Just got a call from my MA. The original car I ordered that arrived at the dealer on 10/2 has the HK radio in it. Can you believe that!

The new one I ordered has a few added options so I'm sticking with it, i.e. xenons, rear fogs, A/S tires.

Crazy to think, I could already be motoring around town.

I don't know whether to be happy or upset.

So...maybe if those of you that reordered check the original car...it just might have the HK in it like you wanted.

Oh you're KIDDING. ARRGH.

Well, whatever, just means I was able to save more $ for my down payment. Maybe they'll squeeze in a better financing rate for us after Motor-Tober ends, too. I'll just keep in mind that this was delayed for a reason. But STILL. ARRGH.

I just rescheduled my original order, rather than canceling it, so there's not a sibling Sriracha out there. This is good, because I'd be really jealous and bummed if someone might so easily end up with an exact replica of my build.

I should be getting on the Independence II. Scheduled for departure today, according to WWL's schedule, but the Port of Southampton's website states it's not leaving till 10/10 at 1600. So I'm going to quit checking the WWL tracking site every few minutes to see if it's loaded.

In case you wanted to see the schedule of ship movements in, out, and around the harbor here's the link. Since all the other port links seem so be no longer any good. You have to know your ship's name of course for this to be any good.

Looks like we are the same as a few of you others....moved up a week. Our MCS is now scheduled to be completed today. Does anyone know where our port-of-entry would be for a Colorado car? I was thinking Texas.

Just got confirmation from ASK-MINI that Sriracha has arrived at the port for transport, too! I may be right there on the Independence II with you.

It looks like, from the link you posted, Johnny, that the Independence will be going out on the 8th/tomorrow at 1600.

did you ask him how the H/K's sound quality? i am really curious to see how it performs compared to Hi-Fi sound?

My MINI is completed on 10/5/09 and now awaiting transport to So Cal. our MINIs will probably end up on the same boat...

He did mention that the HK sounded 10x better than the old Hifi.

Clockwork,

You're right, looks like it updated from the 10th, or I read it wrong.

Independence II scheduled for departure on 10/8/09 at 1600. Thanks.

MINIDEAN-hope you make the Turandot!!! Looks like we might just miss it and have to wait another week for the Don Carlos. Hate the wait but it still sure beats the January or February time frame we were originally given.

Well, Sriracha's still not showing up as booked on the Independence II on the WW site, even though he's apparently sitting down there at the port. I'd be surprised he'd be sitting there if he's not to be put on the boat, but who knows. I'll keep checking.

Next available transport would be next week on the Manon.

The Independence II has been delayed 3 hours and 45 minutes on it's departure time since yesterday. Having dealt directly with shipping movements with the Coast Guard, I'm gonna make an educated guess. The 1945 departure time is when it will leave the berth it currently resides in to go to the dock that it will load our vehicles from. As far as when it will finish loading and leave...the online list doesn't go out that far. That's my best guess.

The Turandot and Taronga are the ones loading now.

But, I'm just trying to derive what's going on from the vehicles that have been checked in and the the ones that are loaded.

Ooh, thanks for the update! I had noticed the Independence kept being delayed and also that no cars had been loaded on it, but didn't make the connection of another ship being in its way.

Sounds like a smart educated guess, to me! Since I'm still getting no info on any cars on the Independence II or on Sriracha having been booked, I'll be glad to wait on the other ships to move out of the way.

Also on Turandot

Great to see that you other West Coasters are getting on the Turandot. My car has shown up today as well and all looks good. For those trying to work out if your cars might make this boat, this might help you count back.

9/23. Order placed with dealer.
9/25. Order confirmed with dealer and VIN and Production # sent to me.
9/27. Vehicle booked on the Turandot (per WW manifest) - BEFORE it ever went to production
10/3 Finished Production
10/5 Received at WW terminal

location of Independence II

Updated from the AIS site for Southampton.

The Taronga is the ship on the opposite side of the penninsula from the Independence II.

However, by the time I posted this, the Taronga had already left the dock and is now headed South.

http://www.ais-live.co.uk/aismap/AIS%20Maps/solent.html

Move your mouse over the AIS contacts to see the name of the vessel. You will have to enlarge the Southampton area to get a good look at which ships are at the dock.

Hmm.

Looking like the Independence departure schedule is sticking at 19:45, and Sriracha still has no booking information, either for the Independence II or the Manon.

So...

I did a little digging on the K-line Europe site and found a nice schedule search tool:

http://www.klineurope.com/container-...chschedule.asp

It's much more intuitive than the printed PDF schedule.

I'm beginning to think that it's not the Independence II that Sriracha is destined for, but the Sierra Nevada Highway, which is scheduled to depart Southampton tomorrow and arrive in Charleston on October 22.

You may be right

Is it possible that they really need two ships going to Charleston departing within 24 hours of eachother. Are they building that many MINIs?

I'm gonna see if the Independence leaves town or moves to the other side of the dock. If so she's scheduled to leave right now.

I wonder if the K Line boats load at the same place as the WWL do?
