Ordered White MCS Oct. 1 2009. My MA told me I would be a Week 42. I called ASK-MINI and they told me that my car started production this morning at 6:00AM (probably EST). That makes mine a Week 41. Apparently it starts in the body shop then goes to paint.
Yes...I ordered the H-K stereo. It is listed on my factory options at the Owner's Lounge so I guess there isn't any problem.

The next significant event is receiving a VIN#.

 

So, I have my VIN, but my JCW still shows as a Cooper S with no factory options on the website. However the Mini advisor has confirmed that it is a JCW with the major options I requested.

Any idea why the website isn't updated? (It's been like this from day 1).

I ordered mine on 10/6 and according the automated system on ASK-MINI, I have an expected completion date of 10/14. That was fast!

 

I just learned that the anticipated completion date for my 'little' car is now the 10th. Happier every day...!

 

Production (supposed to be) finished on 10/13/09.
There is a W-W MVE ship called the Don Carlos scheduled to depart SouthHampton on 10/15/09. It goes to Panama then California. 27 day trip.

 

My Owner's Lounge now says my car is "awaiting transport". So I guess that means it's sitting in Southampton! I think the next ship that leaves is the Faust (funny - I didn't realize I was making that kind of deal) on October 20. With any luck, I'll have my mini on or about Nov 2, less than a month from when I ordered!

 

You ordered it the same day as I did wludavid, and also same completion date. are you in east coast of west coast?

When I check Mini lounge it says awaiting for transport. but when I call ask mini it only tells me my estimated completion date.

I'm on the east coast. I just confirmed that my mini is on the Faust. If you're on the east coast and your mini will be coming through the port of New York, then I'd bet it's on the Faust as well.

Yeah I am in east coast too, Philadelphia. Checked couple days ago it didnt have tracking info for me, now it says my car's loaded onto the FAUST as well heading for NYC.

 

The Don Carlos' last reported position is [SIZE=-1] N 42°24', W 050°30'.
Start Google Earth. copy that position, paste it in the Fly To box. That is where Don Carlos has reported itself to be as of 21 Oct 0600.

FAUST is schedule to port at NYC on Oct 29th. Hopefully no damage to my car and it will be a quick delivery from there.

Is anyone else on the Manon? It is supposed to dock today in Charleston, I'm not sure if my MINI is being offloaded there and sent to Greer, or if it's getting off in Brunswick.

When Faust gets within 50 miles or so of the East Coast you should switch to http://www.marinetraffic.com for tracking. Sailwx is not real-time unless you are a paid user. Marinetraffic is pretty close to real-time (with perhaps 1 hour delay.) When you open marinetraffic.com select the Vessel search and enter the ship's name.

 

I'd been watching marinetraffic.com, but for some reason the Manon stopped giving position/itinerary updates.

My MA said it docked in Brunswick, GA, today. I did a little snooping on the web, and apparently the dock it probably is at is the Colonel's Island RoRo Facility--looks like the British, German, and Swedish auto-makers import there. Check out http://www.gaports.com/

I'm scheduled to pick up my little frogmobile next Tuesday! (Nov 3) I'm taking a day of vacation to get him and am going to hit the windy river roads of South Louisiana! Woo!!!

 

The Faust is docked in New Jersey.

So, my JCW was delivered to the port on the Don Carlos last Friday. How long does it typically take to get to the dealer (Prestige Mini in Ramsey, NJ)? As of yesterday, my MA told me that it was still clearing customs.
