Week 37 (9/7-9/13/2009) Support Group

Well here goes, I was told I should start a "week 37 support group." Since I am used to supporting myself it figures that I start here alone and write to myself.

Asia (my dobie) and I are awaiting our 2010 MCCSa MB/S (our first) which went into production 9-9-09. When push comes to shove this will be much cheaper than paying my therapist

I suppose I'm a Week 36/37er...my production started on 9/4, but is scheduled to be finished on 9/13 (I think because of the holiday?) I should be catching a ride on the Morning Caroline next week for a long trip through the Panama Canal to Port Hueneme and maybe I'll be able to take delivery in mid-October. Yay, I can't wait!!

LongBeachNY...love your dobie picture! Looks like my reaction when I was told I couldn't have the H/K unless I wanted to wait a few months!

Anyways, congrats on the order! I'm over on the Week 36 support. But I'll watch here too, hoping pennysfbay gets on the same boat as me.

I also wanted the H/K but due to time constraints I had to settle.

As far as my beautiful Dobie Asia, She actually is very sweet, I caught her on a day that she was showing her atitude and loved the picture. My male Dobie was truly a gem, he passed this summer. He was a one of a kind, maybe I should name my car after him?

Have a great day and thanks for the props on the pic.

Wohoo!!

Mine is scheduled to be completed the 18th. I ordered the same day as you LongBeachNY, but your dealer must have been quicker- I'm pretty sure mine went into production earlier today.

I'm betting I'll get mine in 6 weeks. Don't know how accurate that is, but I figure a more conservative estimate will make me not worry as much. I'm super excited!

I hope you're right and you are motoring in 6 weeks. Are you on the East Coast?

I'm in CA, which sucks from a boat trip standpoint. When do you think you'll get yours?

My MA said start to finish should be six weeks, however, he said if 09 inventories remain high, they may hold 2010's at the port for a bit to give dealers a chance to move the 09's. I don't know if that will affect an ordered car. I'm hoping not.

Yes- that would be terrible! I don't think we should matter because we custom-ordered.

I hope you're right, Asia and I would not be happy. We wouldn't want Asia unhappy!

My week 37 was born today... hopefully with the H/K! It's currently awaiting transport. How long does it typically take from this point?

Thanks!

It depends where you live. Check this thread for details on rough shipping dates. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d-updated.html

I was told from the 866 number that they will wait until the ship is full before leaving. Also, if there are nasty patches of weather, the representative told me they would do their best to avoid them by waiting at port. Then you have other variables like where the ship is stopping before it gets to you port.

Congrats on the birth of your new baby. Your post prompted me to finally break down and call 1-866-ask-mini. They told me I started assembly today and that she was painted yesterday. The wait is killing me!

Born yesterday!

My mini was born yesterday! Now he said I have to wait for it to get prepped for shipping, for it to get to the dock, and then to wait for it to get on a full boat, and then finally come across the pond . I'll be waiting for a while more it looks like.

I just got a message from my MA telling me my car is done and awaiting transport. Maybe our cars are hanging out together? Who knows, they might end up to be childhood friends.

Congratz! Maybe we'll get on the same ship! I think mine still has to be prepped for shipping and moved to the dock.

Is your car coming into NY? It kills me to know my car is done and I'm not driving it. Even worse that I have to wait weeks. Oh well.

I'm not sure if it'll be going to New York- I think the path is different for the west-coast bound minis (but not sure). My wait is at least 4 weeks from here .

I've decided to take up another addiction while waiting for my car to get in- video games! It'll help the time pass when I'm not working, and will prevent me from checking the status two or three times a day.

According to the tracking site, my Mini will be traveling on the Fedora and leaving for NY tomorrow. After a brief stop in Nova Scotia it should arrive in NY on Oct 1st. Also, who names a ship after a hat? Should I be worried? I guess not, after all hats float :-)

I went to http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/ and entered my VIN in the box on the right that says "cargo id."

Then i went here http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppSche...pe=generatePDF

to look at the shipping schedule.

There is a very accurate thread about tracking your Mini here

It would be nice if they had a webcam for the contents of the boats! I see you got the HK, I didn't order it cause I was in a rush for my car and was told it would delay it. Damn!

What dealer did you buy from?
