I just purchased a new Mini convertible for my wife and the salesman told me that the first oil change should take place at 15,000 miles... is this correct? 15,000 miles? should I do it every 3,000 miles, as most of the cars do? what is your advise in this matter. I am sure you all hear this before, but I did not find any suggestions. Thank you and waiting to hear from you.
Here's what I've done, I have Molly's Oil Changed every 6mo. regardless of mileage. I don't drive more than 7,000 miles in 6 mos. I pay for that Mid-Year Oil Change too, I follow this schedule because it makes the most sense and alot easier scheduling for me.
Yes, you will only get one Free Oil Change per year, if you choose to have your oil changed at any other time expect to pay for it.
My dealer has told me to bring Molly in during the Anniversary Month. So Molly's Oil is changed in April (Anniversary) and October (Mid-Year).

I picked up my new Mini Saturday! The dealer told me the same thing every 15,000 miles.
The every 6 months is great idea. I can set a reminder on my calendar of course after I get the first two done by the dealer.
