Loving the car except it has to go back for service. Check engine light came on after 350mi but still drives OK. Going in for service on Wed.

Just like oldchicago said, I would try to gas cap as well.
Don't forget to wave, especially if you see a 2006 JCW Chili Red with white-checkered top in the Newton/Dedham/Cambridge area
I agree it may be the gas cap. This is the most common cause and sometimes even after you tighten the cap the light will stay on for a while before it resets. Of course with a brand new car it could be some other sensor etc. Congrats on a beautiful new MINI! Happy Motoring
Code was CC-ID 031 (excessive emissions) which indicates there may be a leak in the fuel system. My SA thought the system may have detected a very small leak somewhere and turned the light on. They ran some pressure tests and it passed all of them. Error code has been cleared and I'll monitor it and see if it comes back. So far so good *knocks on wood*.
