My new JustACooper

I just picked up my new little black bulldog on Saturday. Coming from a BMW 335i...horsepower is overrated.

Going to get a tint done this week and pick up a blackout grille to complete the Darth Vader look.

Updated pics with grille installed:

Great Cooper!!

Wow, you are coming off of 300 HP in that 335. I sold my 323 BMW convertible when I orderd my '09 MCS Convertible and worried a bit if the MINI was a purchase I might question in the future. It was a needless worry as I am still looking for excuses to drive the MINI. Enjoy your Cooper!!

So you are replacing the 335i with an automatic Cooper? Wow, that's a huge difference in horsepower and overall feel.

I felt a huge difference going from my M to the MCS, and the S54 engine in my BMW has less torque than the N54 in yours did.

Looks great in all black, though!

I didn't get the full Rooster Red interior but just the color line trim on the doors and dash. I saw the full interior (which is just the bolsters with the same checkered cloth as I have) and it seemed a little over priced at around $1K.

Anyhow, I forgot to take interior shots - but I will tonight and post them. The trim adds a nice splash of color inside.

Frankly, the auto sucks. My last 3 cars have all been sticks but the wife was insistent. However, I have lost about 1,000 lbs and that is a massive difference. The Mini is just so much more tossable and fun.

I'd rather have a JCW with another 90 hp and 6-speed manual - but for a commuter car it beats the hell out of a Civic.

Good point... current BMW offerings are all a bit heavy, so you have saved alot of weight!

Certainly beats a Civic, you're right on that one too!
