Speaking of progress of the babies...

I was just about to post that if Faust doesn't get a move on soon, it'll never make it's date at 12:30 at 34/35... and I see now that tugboat Union Topaz is starting to get a little cozy with it.

Let's get moving, Faust! I'm actually not convinced it will make 12:30 at this point. But any movement would help...

We are glad you joined us here. Y2K Falcon and RayRatt are really good at gathering information.

The Faust is due in Southampton tomorrow to pick up your car.
ETA 9/8 12:30

ETD 9/8 22:00

6 hour difference between Southampton time and Central Time Zone.

You would be that focused. Maybe even more than that. I am still laughing at myself being so obsessed that I saw a wrong cargo ship at right time docked by my VDC Minute by minute - so true... Welcome DashHouston!

Speaking of tracking, I've been up and down the marinetraffic.com site and the google earth kml just waiting to see the ELEKTRA enter into the AIS purview...

Time to gather some insurance info though mine has a bit of I-95 travel once it's off and the driving lights installed...

RayRatt

I found a really cool show on Youtube about the Panama Canal. The show was made by National Geographic. It is in five parts.

Looks like the first news of a push of Faust's Southampton's arrival time to 13:00.

"Dash.... tell us more about your car!"

It's obvious you aren't one of my local friends or co-workers. They are begging me NOT to talk about it anymore.

As a birthday present, my husband took me to the local MINI dealership and told me to get whatever I wanted. I ordered the '09 hardtop, mellow yellow, white bonnet stripes, white roof & mirrors, premium package, black/grey leatherette, black interior, 10-spkr hi-fi, manual, chrome gas cap.

I see some of you talking about the "born on" date. Is that when it left the body shop? Left the paint shop?

Ordered Aug 03, in paint shop Aug 28, has been sitting at the dock of the bay in Southampton since the morning of Sep 02.

Looks like a fine day in Southampton for cruising. http://weather.uk.msn.com/local.aspx...ns=wc:UKXX0138

16:30? I'm counting on the dock workers NOT being at high tea! That, I'm afraid, would be an unacceptable delay.

Anybody else notice it takes the ELEKTRA 8 days to transit the pond while it takes the FAUST 6 days?

ELEKTRA still says it will be in Halifax on the 9th but the Port of Halifax doesn't have her on their daily status report as scheduled anymore. It used to be but was removed. Arg!

Crap! Beautiful day near Southampton/Solent, and the Faust goes by the webcam while I was driving into work. :(

The sailboats are out, though.

16:30? Really? I doubt it takes 2 hours to get to Southampton from where it is (just about to enter the Southampton channel). No one is on 34/35.... (that I can see)

It's going 18 knots now! Wow!

Screenshotted? I'm just "connecting". Took forever to get the "install the Panasonic App" thing as well.

Yes I did. Am trying to figure out how to send it.

To all....the http://www.cowesharbourweather.com/webcam.aspx web address is a goody. It is virtually live and automatically updates every few seconds. There are eight veiws so you can catch the ships at various locations.

I've got the image saved to a file, but can't figure out how to attach/insert it to a message.

The image has to be hosted somewhere else. You have to upload the file somewhere to like flickr or photobucket or some image hosting site. You then use the 'insert image' button when creating a message and paste the html address of the image. It will then show up.

Most forums operate this way as hosting images can balloon the necessary storage pretty quickly.
