Her name's Elphaba, and she's got 3:45 on the Openometer already. Today was as perfect a day for open motoring as one can find this time of year in CNY.

Just got back from a late-nite shakedown cruise

Found out my wind noise stemmed from a bad habit. My old (non-MINI) car's sunroof didn't stop when it was supposed to, but would make a grinding noise like the stripping of gears if I held the switch too long. So it trained me to let go of the switch when the sunroof looks closed. A slight opening in the convertible sunroof, while invisible from inside, makes a LOT of noise! But when properly closed it's as quiet as, well, a hardtop. Cancel panic mode!

 

My MA called this AM. I'm picking up the car at 2:30 today.No name yet, still thinking.

We picked up the car this afternoon and were greeted by a thunderstorm and nickel sized hail soon after we pulled into the driveway. I got a cover on as soon as I could but it's still too wet out there and check for damage. That stuff hurt as it bounced off my head while covering up the car. Maybe I should call it Thor or boomer.

 

that made for a very rememberable home coming, don't think you will forget it very soon

Not yet should have got here today. tomorrow maybe, then a day for them to put stuff on it. Thursday?

 

OK now it's changed again set to get to OKC tomorrow (18th) wonder if it will show

Picked it up last night with just 7 miles on it. I am very excited to get to know it.

Yay! You've got it! Love the checkerboards... did you somehow cover the sunroof as well? Hard to tell in the picture..

I put on the checkered sunroof decal that you can get from MINI, it's just the white decals and it's precut to fit. I don't like having to take it back, but their best tech at the MINI dealership was off till Monday, & my MA suggested I wait for him to get back to have the extras added on.

Atomic, nice wheels! You'll appreciate your performance upgrades that much more for having driven the car without them. Plus you get the fun of waiting again!

What was that bar on the back of the door on the first photo?

 

Minigator, Scooby looks so shiny! I haven't found time to wax Elphaba yet. (Soon though!) Did it make a big difference?

 

That's a foam cover, keeps the doors from hitting anything. my MINI had just gotten off the truck, like 5 mins before.

 

He is shiny! I talked them down in price on the Xzilon and got them to throw in the rubber boot mat, and rubber mat set to go with it. makes it nice and shiny, and the water really beads up when it rains. I'll post interior pics soon!
