Thoughts on my proposed JCW build
Thoughts on my proposed JCW build
Hi all,
After reading many of the threads I think I am ready to post some questions to the forum, so here goes. I plan on doing significant highway weekend travel (about 200-300 miles each way). Otherwise my daily commute will top 20 miles each way with "typical" rush hour traffic. I will be coming out of a ’98 Corolla (no modifications) so I’m especially looking forward to the extra legroom as a 6’3’ tall guy. My current build puts me right at $35K which is my personal limit. I’m open to general feedback on all options but wanted to narrow it down to the four options listed below. To add to the stew, would anyone recommend saving some dollars by doing most of the build aftermarket? I know it’s a lot of questions, but this will be my first new car and “big” purchase. Regardless, I will greatly appreciate your input.
1) Is the JCW (stock suspension & seats) a comfortable ride over long trips?
2) Center arm rest (at the dealership this actually obstructed my elbow on pulling the handbrake), but it’s great for resting said elbow on long trips.
3) Factory Navigation (read some primarily negative threads on here, but I’m tired of dismounting my Garmin 260W)?
4) Invisishields (Bonnet & Bumper)
Proposed specs for my JCW
Laser blue, Premium pkg, Xenons, Leatherette seats, Auto dimming Mirror, Center arm rest, Chrome Line Interior, Factory Nav, HiFi Sound, Rack roof base, Glove box organizer, grocery bag holder, front rubber mats, Invisishields, bumper protection.
