Now mine, I ordered 2/20/09 and took delivery 3/28/09, so 5 weeks start to finish. Not bad from what others have posted.

It also depends on your dealer, your MA, which boat you get on (I swear the TOPEKA was a speedboat), timing, luck, and anything else you care to throw in there!

I know a way to pass the time - go read the Week 11 Support Group thread: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ort-group.html - that'll give you some good laughs!

Or you could organize your CDs, delete old files on your computer, watch paint dry....

That last line def gave me a good chuckle...lol

Very happy with the color.

And yes, our friends have already started trying to name it...

I have to agree... reading the posts from the group with Perehelion makes you appreciate the wait of less than HALF A YEAR!!! When the posts got to the point where he actually gets his car and shows pictures you catch yourselves tearing up for a stranger... fellow motorers unite. We can wait together! Knowing that others are as crazy as you are makes it easier

I'm sure the closer it gets the more amped I'll be....

There's also distinct possibility that when I pick up the car I'm going to speed away from the dealer, get half way home and realize I left my wife at the dealer.

But as you speed away don't forget to keep your rpms below 4500!

I make no promises except i'll be sure to keep it under 8000.
I actually have been doing the research on breaking it in and am still on the fence about which route I'm going to go. (hard vs. easy)

I also forgot to mention that on Thursday (4/30) I checked the owner's lounge and I was scheduled for production! I also just checked it today and I got a VIN!

It's aliiive, ALIIIIIVVVVVVE!!!!

Sounds exciting...it won't be long now...it will feel like an eternity, but the wait is so woth it!! YOU'LL S@@!!

As for leaving the Wife...if our MA had not put Hubby in the Passenger before I got behind the wheel...I think he'd still be at the dealership...1 Year Later!!

Just a stab in the dark...
The turn around has been getting better over the years, even last year when they were in very short supply Shawn got into production before I'd even started obsessing (Ordered on Friday, in production by Sunday). That was a lot better than the first one which was 2 months for production (and 3 months for delivery).

With the downturn the waits should only get better.

Given the context of this discussion, I think this is understandable.

So now I have something completely different to be worried about...

I'm going on vacation at the end of the month and just proposed the question to myself, what if I get the call to come pick it up while I'm away?? Yes I know the dealer will obviously hold it, but how much would THAT suck? Or even worse, it's ready the day I go away?

Talk about bitter sweetness lol.

I guess we'll see how this one plays out, and yes I do realize it was poor planning on our part but we were just so damn excited to order the car the thought of our vacation never popped in our heads. BRILLIANT! Maybe we'll just have to rent a MINI while we're away.

Been there, done that.

We were visiting the Oxford factory when our first one came in. we had to fly back home and pick him up while Jet Lagged.

Yes... it will be a long three weeks until delivery. I ordered on April 8th, was completed on April 23rd. The time waiting to get on a ship seemed like forever, not ten days! Somehow knowing that she is on her way here it seems better now... Don't worry... it will be here soon! OnPurnt, what are you naming him/her?

Not too sure yet, I'm going to drive "it" for a while and see if a name presents itself. Friends have suggested "The B" for two reasons, the obvious bee comments that come with yellow, and our last name begins with B. I'm taking a liking to it, but still want to wait it out.
I guess anything is better than the name of my current car which only gets spoken when something goes wrong (which is all the time).....

"YOU P.O.S.!!!!!!!" unabbreviated of course

That is so funny! P.O.S! My minivan gets called that all the time too! Mine is Midnight Metallic Black with a white roof and sunroof. I am having white hibiscus bonnet stripes put on her I am stuck between Stella, Lola and Laila. What do you think? My husband wants a classic and wants to call it "Speck". That cracks me up

Crap... just found out that the Olympian Highway is delayed and won't be in Charleston until the 15th. The Courage is docking the day before so they will go first through the VDC. Oh well... one more week added on...

I put my name on the waiting list for a 09 MCSC 11/07. They finally let me pay my deposit 10/31/08, actually ordered it 1/17/09 and picked it up 4/22/09. Its a long wait BUT totally worth it. "Buttons" is awesome.
