Two new addicts

my girlfriend has dreamed of owning a mini cooper since they first came out. recently, i surprised her with a used r53. she was happy. there were tears and everything. good times.
it took about a week to teach her how to drive it during which i fell in love and she decided she prefers automatics.

now there are two.

she drives a pepper white '04 auto with center-exit exhaust, mystery body kit and ADR wheels. its a pretty clean looking car.

the r53 i originally got for her is on jack stands in the garage next to a pile of performance parts about $10k deep. i hope to finish the build by late june '09.

we're looking forward to getting plugged into the community!

best,
mike and angelita
san jose, CA.

Welcome to NAM !

Hmmmm.... I bought a PW automatic for my Fiance.

I bought a MINI for myself, too.

So yeah, your story sounded a bit familiar to me. Look down... I'm thinking you'll be buying a convertible soon.

Cool, new members from San Jose, too. YOu know where you have to take your Minis now, right? A nice spirited drive up Highway 130 towards Mt Hamilton. It's where the Mini was meant to be.

thanks for the warm welcome!

i'm a big fan of the mt. hamilton run! my old Mk I and i had many near over-cliff moments together on that road back in the day
we should put together a run to the lick observatory when my S is done.

there's a couple pictures of my girlfriends auto in my gallery. the r53 is in bits so i'll hold off on pics til it looks like a car again.

as for getting a third mini vert... that's just crazy talk!

the back seems to come from the "max" kit by Vis. the front is still a mystery. the previous owner didn't know it's origins either.

anyone recognize it?

Def sounds like a plan. I usually make a quick trip just up to the Joseph Grant park on the weekends just for fun around 7 am. Too many bikes later on in the day ruins the drive for me.
