Go to week 19 when you get a chance--put up some photos of the cars on the Mini run we took today to Jamestown (CA). 15 cars! j.

Hi Mel--I know someone who may be interested in ordering flower stripes like yours. Do you know where they were ordered from? Thanks. j

Windows are DONE . Next up--the blinky brake lights. I followed a couple of the cars that have them and they are not obnoxious, which is what I feared. I am also looking into graphics on the side---will wait on that though....

The window tint looks great! Why didn't you do the driver's side window? Oh, and please let me know how the install goes with the blinkie light if you get to it before me. It's hitting 100 here so I won't be doing anything for a long time

I would have loved to tint the driver and passenger windows, but it is illegal to do it in California. Although some people do, not only will you have to take it off ($40) if you get a ticket, but you also have to pay the fine! Not worth it .

I completely agree with you. I bought the front license plate bracket so that I wouldn't get a ticket and so that I wouldn't have to drill into my front bumper. I'm not crazy about putting holes in my brand new car

I'll have to check on what is legal in Texas but I really hope that I can at least partially tint the front side windows. The rear I don't care about but the front. Ick! I get nervous about getting sunburned with how hot and intense the sun is on my left arm.

You might think about the back as well--you have no idea how much cooler the car stays with the windows tinted. You might legally be able to go with one shade darker on the front windows--I just did not feel it was a big issue for me. I might change my mind later on though. I was not happy that the dealer put the front plate holders on mine before I picked it up. Apparently the new laws are that there has to be license holders on the front and the back before it leaves the dealership. So many rules..... . I find that I make excuses to go for rides. This car is way too much fun!

If I did the front windows then I would do the rest of the car too. I basically would like to do everything except the windshield.

Thank goodness that isn't the law in Texas, and I didn't even realize until I was looking at the pictures of my dad's mini with mine that he didn't have a license plate on the front of his. In fact, I rarely see a Mini in the DFW area that has one. My MA didn't bother with it because so few of his customer's actually put one on. In all honesty, I'm not crazy about having the license plate off to the side but I'll live with it. I'd much prefer to have it centered without holes

Oh, I'm with you Mrs Jiminni. I saw a picture of a Mini yesterday that had curved stripes and so now I'm wishing that I had postponed adding the stripes.

Have you checked into any local Mini clubs? We have had such a great time in our club--just had a BBQ and meeting Friday night and everyone is so nice. The three newest cars in the club (all bought within the last month, but mine was the only special order) are Laser Blue! They all do look a little different though--one has no bonnet stripes with white top and the other has a black top.

Not yet, but I probably will eventually. I've joined the DFW chat forum and posted on the forum but I haven't gone to any of the meetings. They all seem to be very nice online so I'm sure that they will be in person as well. I really need to get a job before I do anything else

So cool that our cars were "born" the same day. Have you heard any rattles and squeeks? My car so far is as tight as a drum. Maybe we had a better crew than some others.....

I haven't had any problems either. We definitely had the best birthday. Every day I love this car more and more. Even when I cheat on it with my Mom's Civic I lovingly pat it and talk to it everyday. Does that qualify as an obsession?

I think that it's also great that we got our cars only 2 days apart.

I am getting quote on adding rear boot stripes. With the factory aero kit, the only color on the rear is blue--no black on the bumper or anything. Needs more color
