You have no idea how lucky you are on the East Coast. The trip alone to California is 20 days, barring no bad weather, pirates, etc. I do not expect to see mine until the first week of June!

Surprise surprise surprise, my MA just called and my car is in. I wasn't expecting it for another week. That makes it 1 month from order date to delivered to the dealer. Arrived in NY last Thursday and in Towson, MD today. WOOT!

I got confirmation that my Mini has landed in Montreal.

I called Hansens in montreal and asked about it, and they mentioned that it could take just as long as it does to cross the ocean and travel by train to montreal combined!!!

Now is the real waiting game......

Might just have to throw on a pair of black jeans, black shirt, black hat and go for a stroll at the train yards if it does take that long

I think mine sat at the rail yard in Toronto for 3-4 days before showing up on Hansen's tracking. After that it took two days to show up at the dealership. My dealer is only around 55km away from the yard.

Once my dealer got it, they needed about half a day to do the pdi and final detailing.

So you might be able to make a weekend delivery but I wouldn't hold my breath on that. Next week is much more likely. It all just depends on how busy the yard, Hansen's, and your dealership is to make this happen quickly.

At this point though I'd make sure your bank draft is ready(if you are getting one) and get your insurance updated just in case.

Either way, it's almost here

Ya if you step back and look at it, its not all that bad..... Its just that im so anxious!!! Just cant wrap my head around the fact that the Mini has to travel 5.3 KM (3.2 Miles) and it can take just as long as crossing the ocean and the long train ride!

I guess my MA knew what he was talking about when he said it would be TIGHT for a delevery on the 31st of May!

Well the Olympian Highway docked in Baltimore this morning at 6:13am. At least it is in American water now!! It is coming into Charleston on Friday. Does anyone have any experience with how long it takes to go through the VDC there? I REALLY want it by the end of the month!!!

So excited! The Olympian Highway left Baltimore at noon and is going into Charleston a day early, tomorrow at 1:00pm. My MA keeps saying things like "it takes a few day at the port, a few days at VDC, a few days to sit, and two days to get to Ohio..... "Seems kind of negative. I have read all the threads where people are getting them much faster than that. Huh... maybe I am sensitive because I am GOING INSANE with IMPATIENCE.....

I feel your pain!!!! My car sat at the port at southhampton for 2 days, crossed the Atlantic on time, jumped on a train and made it's way to Montreal 2 days ahead of schedule. Now it's sitting in the rail car not being touched until maybe next week. I even called CNRail to see what the problem was and through talking to about 5 people I spoke with someone who works directly In The train yards and she said to give her a call everyday And ask to speak to her directly to find out the status of my mini.

She hopes to be able to get to my wagon by the end I next week

I just can't understand why it's taking so long for the car to get to the dealers (3 miles)

I feel your pain and anxiousness

Yay! I think that I'm officially in the Week 17 group. My Mini's birthdate is 4/28/2009, so would this be the correct place? I have only been able to read of other's pain and suffering for the past few weeks because I didn't have any information on my car. Now I know it's birthday and which ship it's on (the Don Pasquale) and where it will go through VDC (GA). I can't wait!

Which do y'all think will be worse: the wait up until this point or the wait from now until it arrives at your dealer?

I don't know... I think now is worse. Mine is at the South Carolina VDC. I am not able to track it anymore and that is hard... not knowing where it is or what she is doing! When does the boat come into Georgia?

WELLLLLLL!!! Pictures????? How was the pick up? What did they do in terms of showing you how to work everything? Is it all you hoped for? Mine is still at the VDC I guess. My MA told me yesterday that it would be the 27th before it gets to her and two more days for me to pick her up.... AHHHHHH. This part of the wait is terrible!

You are officially week 18. Your car has the same birthdate as mine. Check out Week 19 forum as well--some cars on your boat in that week also. No one started a thread for week 18, so I am bouncing back and forth. Mine will not likely get to the dealership until early June--Morning Concert to the West Coast. Let us all know all about your new baby when you get her and POST PHOTOS!

Someone said that the DP has been delayed so I'm now looking at the 26th for the arrival date in GA. :(

If anyone viewing week 17 thread wants to check out Minis on the Morning Concert to the West Coast, check out the Week 19 thread--you will get a lot of info. on how to track the boat and maybe see it going through the Canal tomorrow. And POST! A lot of "fun" people have their minis on the Morning Concert.

Well today is Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend... My car was supposed to be delivered to the dealer today but it looks like the driver took the weekend off. They think it will get there early on Tuesday. I was supposed to pick her up on Wednesday but now it looks like Thursday! My stripes are coming from Aesthetic creations and they just mailed them today. It looks like I will have to part with Stella for a day to have them put on. They won't be there by the time I can pick her up and I CANNOT WAIT another day!!!!!
Anyone pick up their MINI yet? I can't wait to see pictures!

Week 17, 2009 Anyone else out there?-hawaiian-boot-stripes.jpgI know... I am thankful to not have your wait time.... It seemed to go faster at the end for some reason.

My stripes are bonnet stripes but they are white hibiscus flowers. Same dimensions and placement as the bonnet stripes. I will try to attach a picture of a pepper white with black roof and black flowers. Mine is the opposite, black car, white roof, white flowers. I will put pictures up Can't wait to see yours. Did you read week 11 post, stevenski? He wrecked his today... 2 months old....

Too bad about Stevenski--hope it is not totalled. The stripes are cool. Are they on the front and back or just the back?

The stripes are only on the front. I am excited and nervous at the same time! I am sure they will look awesome, I guess worse case I can have them switched out for plain white bonnet.

Hope all goes well. Good idea to bring a camera with you and take good photos while still at the dealer in case of any blemishes in the paint, etc. Also, check out Week 19 thread--Melcmini has a hilarious story....
