Thanks! I can't remember if I said it before but I love your stripes. They're so fun!

Are you kidding? We're still obsessive! We're chatting on a car forum

Go to week 19 thread--Got my Mini today and my husband posted photos (Jiminni). I had no idea how much fun it is to drive. To be honest, I ordered the car, but forgot to test drive one. I have to say it is way more fun than either of my BMW's!!!!!

Mrs Jiminni,

It's gorgeous!!! I love the Laser Blue/White combo. Blue is definitely my favorite color. If I had gotten an S then I would have most likely chosen that color combo. The interior looks fabulous.

I felt the same way after we picked up mine. I hadn't driven a Mini since my test drive back in January so I was super nervous, but it is such a blast to drive! I'm really having trouble keeping it under 4500 RPM. How about you?

Lovin the Sport mode--mine is an auto., but boy is it a lot quicker at the start even than my BMW. Odd that the Coopers and the S's have some different color choices--I was originally liking the dark red, but was only in the Cooper. I was going with Chili Red until I saw the Laser Blue at the dealership. Kept going back and forth, ordered the red; got home and showed the two colors to my sons. They voted blue--changed it the next morning. I am VERY HAPPY that I changed my mind. Also, I thought I ordered piano black with the blue color line interior, but when it came in, it was the stock checkered. I actually am very glad--the checkered looks good with the color line and after talking to my MA, the piano black apparently smudges easily and I have two boys . Things are just falling into place

Yay! Congratulations, I'm glad that everything is working out. The main thing that I debated was the sunroof and I'm still happy that I don't have it. I'm sure that at some point I'll wish that I had it but I'd like to think that my car will stay cooler because it lacks a sunroof.

I bet that your boys love your car. One sister has mixed emotions about my car (she's 14 and since it doesn't involve her she's not a fan) but the other sister won't find out about it until she gets back from Costa Rica in a few weeks. I've managed to keep it a surprise for most of my family.

My older son has not ridden in it yet--since my hubby has one already, it is just ho-hum for now until I actually let him drive it (he has taken driver's training, is waiting to take driver's ed.--he is 16 at the end of this month). My younger son loves it. Since it is an auto and my husband's is a 6 speed, he will learn how to drive in mine . Finally figured out how to program the garage door opener . Now to just sit back and love it! BTW I love having the sun roof, but since my last car was a convertible, I needed some open space above me.

My baby sister will be getting her learner's permit in February so we're going to have to figure out which car she's going to learn on. She also wasn't enthused because of my dad's Mini. Dad's is a 6-speed too, but I'm encouraging them to teach my sister on his so that she won't have the learning curve that my other sister and I have heard. Some say it's easier to learn how to drive a manual before an automatic than vice versa. So don't sacrifice your car! Teach him on your husband's

I actually learned on a 1962 Austin Healey Sprite (ask your Dad about this) that was 3-speed manual, no synchro first gear. That was quite an experience but you are right--it taught me how to drive properly. Had to come to a complete stop at the stop signs or you could not get it into gear while rolling

I will have to ask him about that. I didn't even realize that cars were made with only 3 gears at that time.

And your new puppy? So cute! What did y'all name him? He looks like a sweetie that could easily gnaw on your favorite pair of shoes. Good luck with puppyhood!

That convertible was beautiful. Too bad that it was a lemon. I am praying that my car doesn't have any major problems. It will be really disappointing if my first car turned out to be a lemon.

I think that we may be the only ones left on the Week 17 forum. Everyone else seems to have disappeared.

Cute!

Melissa, come back!

I too will keep checking in.

(We're pretty fond of it, too. So far, Mini has only created pretty blues)

Hello Ladies!! I have been out driving... sorry... MOTORING!!! I have put like 750 miles on Stella in two weeks My husband nicely asked me to scale it back a bit

After reading about the poor owners who had wiper nozzle issues I ran out to check Stella.. no sign of any problem. I do however have A LOT of dripping of water, condensation when I am stopped after running the air conditioning. More than I am comfortable with so I am going to have it looked at.

How are you guys doing with yours??

Nice to have you back! Click on my gallery when you get a chance. So far, so good with mine. Had a little leakage on the back nozzle, but it stopped quickly. We sucked out some of the wiper fluid just in case though. I have not had to run the air too much yet (unusually mild weather lately), so I will check on this when I do. The 100's are just around the corner . Have you noticed that the Mini's can look feminine or masculine with just a few changes? Yours is a girlie car to the max (how does your husband feel about that?) If you put mine next to my husband's, no one is going to have to guess who drives which one! Take care and happy motoring

Yay! Welcome back, Mel! I just passed the 200 mile mark today but I'll be putting a lot of miles on it over the next week. My commute is nearly 30 miles each way so I'll finally have to fill up my gas tank.

I couldn't agree more about the masc vs. fem thing. I think that when you put my dad's mini next to mine you can definitely tell who's Mini is whom's. Mr. J's and your Mini are even more pronounced of a difference. In general, I would guess that guys get way more into the modifications than women do. My only mod's will be for practical purposes. Armrest, pulsar light, maybe light in sight, etc. Wouldn't y'all agree?

Oh, and Mel I noticed today that my Mini was letting out a lot of water after having run the AC so I think that that may be normal but if your dealer says anything please let me know! We'll probably hit the 100's by next week so AC is kind of important

So I take it you ladies are from Texas and South Carolina. You get the heat, but you also get a lot of humidity, right? We get a very dry heat here (Central California). That may add to the buildup of condensation when you run the AC. Would be a guess....... What are laser lights. Are they the blinky lights for the brake lights that some people are putting on or lights in the interior? My husband wants to put some interior lights at our feet, but after having so many electrical issues with my last car, I told him not to touch the electrical system .

It's true, we do get some humidity here in Texas. I'm in North Texas so we also get our fair share of dry heat as well. It'll be extremely oppressive in about a month and won't let up until October or November, at the earliest.

The Pulsar lights are the blinking brake lights. I'm hoping that they will be a safety mod, considering a BMW had to swerve to avoid hitting me this morning. We weren't even going very fast! Urgh....

I have heard about those lights. If you get them, let me know what you think. I am all for safety

I will. It probably won't be until November or December because I detest the heat, but I will definitely let you know what I think. The price is reasonable but I'm concerned about tearing apart my boot to install it.

I am in luck--we have the best Mini mechanic around and he is reasonable. Right now I am checking into getting the back windows tinted.

Ah, smart. That's another mod that I'm thinking about making at some point. I'll see how this summer goes but most likely I'll need to tint my windows. So far the white roof has really kept my car cool!

I agree--I think the white roof helps. That is also why I did not go with the anthracite interior--too much black inside. I like the light color. My car is garaged most of the time, so stays pretty cool anyway. I have already put some stickers on my windows:
Custom Mini Shop
MidCal Minis
Actual Size (had to have that one )

My car is also garaged all the time. My one and only sticker is a Longhorn with the Texas flag inside of it. I'll have to post a picture of it soon. It rained the morning after I put it on.
