Still in the air, but something has happened that makes it much more possible.

actually, not my inheritance but wife DID just get one.

So a fat tax return and a donation from the wife will get my payments out of the stratosphere and closer to earth =)

The donation being key - I already counted on the tax return.

I'm with you on that one, COKen - my MINI showed up a day early, and it took all the willpower I had to not bug my MA to move delivery up a day. It helped that it was raining HARD that day, so waiting the extra day didn't hurt - much...

Motormouth - I'll keep everything crossed for you!

News on the homefront - my MINI just turned 1000 miles today! Woohoo! 200 to go 'til I can rev past 4K!

I was at the dealer today for my first "issue". My rear wiper washer nozzle thingy was leaking, down the back of the hatch. Turns out there is a TSB on this - at speed the valve would cause a vacuum and let fluid leak out - they had to remove the rear trim panel and replace a valve in the washer line....just letting you all know, since we were all built around the same time.

Now if I can just get the stuff off that leaked - looks like that "cosmoline" stuff, and quick detailer didn't work, hopefully regular soap and water will. Otherwise I'm looking at polishing it - I'd rather not do that to just over a month old paint job...

Good to hear the week 11ers are all almost motoring. Should hit the magic 1200 for mine this weekend on a camping trip. Plan use the tent, but really want to spend as much time as possible in my new baby!

Ok, can someone help us out? How does someone actually find their "week"? My wife just got to the "in production" stage 3 days ago, and has a VIN#. I have read the thread on all the ordering and tracking over and over . Do you have to call Mini? Is there a easier way to find out? Any info is appreciated .

JIMINNI,

Maybe there is a way that the production week is documented and you can gain access to that info - Others from Week 11 will have to chime in on that, but here is my spin on all of this:

First, the production week is really not all that important except for hooking up with the right sub-forum here so that you can share your experience with others in same boat as you...and there are many production weeks that have no sub-forum. Our Production Week 11 is actually a bunch that have grouped together with productions that probably range from ~ Production Week 9 or 10 thru about 12.

What is more important than the production week is the date that your production started...you get your VIN # and you then know that things are starting to happen and in about ...what is it about 7-8 days, your MINI will have been quality inspected and either awaiting to be transported down to the dock or already at the dock. Then that is when the fun starts with tracking the arrival of your vessel, etc.

I figured out my Production Week by just counting the weeks from Jan 1st untilthe day production started and that then became my production week. So...if your production date was 3 days ago...then that is ...April 20th ? counting the weeks off from Jan 1st...I would say you are in Production Week........16 ??

Hey guys ...that make sense ? Week 16 ?

at first I and then thought no that's mean so I

I had a deal with my wife that if it snowed after I got my Mini this year, that I'd take her car to work. She rarely drives and just walks across the street to the train station to get to work anyway. I don't have the "parts" to drive it in the snow without proper tires.(I got the Continentals btw)

This information typically comes from your MA. I had my production week well before my production number or VIN was available. In the flow of things, the production week is assigned when your dealership sends the order to MINI in your country, who then routes it to the factory. When the factory places the order in the queue, your order gets a production week.

Given that you're already "in production", this week is your production week (Week 17). Congrats! Now that you have your VIN, the last 7 digits are the best way to track your MINI from here on in. Call MINI USA or your dealership to get more updates, since the Owners Lounge online seems to be behind quite a bit.

So far I've had no complaints with the Dunlops. The ride is on the harsh side on back roads but the road noise isn't bad. Drown in out with the JCW exhaust note anyways. Haven't pushed the limits of grip just yet, waiting until after break in to really push her. Up to about 750kms now. Not enough free hours to go driving yet but the weekend is upon us soon enough!

Looks like I'm going to get to find out how these Dunlops are in the snow this weekend. Nothing's going to keep me from running the MINI with the MINI Club of Calgary this weekend but the weather doesn't want to play nice. Maybe I'll get to see the traction control in action.

Well, if COKen's delivery was anything like mine then he's nearly ready to drive off the lot Probably out with the MA going over the features and functions of the car.

Although, I did forget about the time difference so I might have been off by like an hour or something
