is it worth it to pay for a Consumer Reports Bottom Line price report $14?
Out of curiosity, what Mini are they talking about here? None of the current models are supercharged or have 168hp engines (as far as I know anyway). The EPA estimate for a non-S is in the upper 30s. [Edit: since the sentence might be confusing, the S has 172HP and "justa" has 118HP]

bobsax w/a MINI U wont hear that ominous THUD of a 40% instant depreciation hit the second U drive it new off the lot.
when I traded in my problematic 2005 S after 4 years and 27K miles, my depreciation averaged about 7.6%/year over that period, and most of that happened in year 4 (the car actually appreciated a bit right after I got it, because MINIs were rare and in high demand in the West.)
No one can beat that, not even the great Toyota empire that's developed some cracks here as of late....
