Whistling Noise Around 75 mph

Hello to all you Mini-sters. This is my first posting. From looking at this site for the past couple of months, I know there are some smart Mini folks out there. So, maybe someone can help me out.
Got my '09 S hardtop back on 10 Oct. Still breaking it in.....have about 400 miles on it now. I have noticed out on the highway at speeds around 75 mph I start to hear a whistling noise, it sounds like wind blowing through a metal pipe. My guess is it's coming from air rushing into the bonnet scoop. Has anyone else experienced this somewhat annoying noise? Is it the scoop or something else? Other than the whistling noise I'm thrilled with the car. I gave up a Boxster to get the Mini.....it was a good move!!!

I had that with my '06 R53, too. Turned out to be a very small crack up near the rain sensor -- a crack that eventually grew and revealed itself. New windshield, and the problem went away. More, here.

My whistling stopped when I removed the clear bra protector on the d /s mirror.

I had a windshield changed and get a windshield noise at higher highway speeds. Especially if there is a good crosswind.
I can live with that. Just do the pin swap on the speakers and turn it up.
