Well, in a couple of hours I'll be heading to East Bay Mini to pickup my Clubman. Am I the last one???

 

Nope, you're not the last one. The last one will be me. Not because my car was damaged in transport, not because I live far from the VDC, not because I have options being added, butl because I (like a retard) decided to travel on business out of country the day my Mini showed up at the dealer. Which I might add, was the Saturday after my baby landed. Grrrrr. My dealer has promised to put it in a nice dry, hidden spot so that my baby isn't dinged, dented, touched, breathed on, or even looked at until I get back....(I'm a jealous father!)...sadly my return is not for another 2 weeks.

And as for music when I drive her off...I'm deciding between:

Jeff Beck - The Pump (and I promise not to drive it into a lake! See Risky Business if you don't know the reference)

I haven't picked up mine yet either. My MINI didn't arrive in Portland until 11/14 (they apparently trucked them up from VDC in batches). I will be picking it up on Friday, 11/21. The wait is excrutiating!

I took Nellie, my Mini, to my PT Cruiser (my other car) car club get-together today. They loved her and were very jealous. Nothing like other car people to appreciate a good-looking, well-built car!

 

I'm thinking I'll be the last.MA called and I will not pickup my mcc in Portland until the anthracite headliner is installed at the dealer and parts are on back order now,how they missed it on the order who knows but a dealer mistake.I did take a look at it on Saturday though.I do not want to deal with returning to the dealer when parts come in and also concerned with the install so don't want to finalize.Thumper sure was dirty but at least but at least it is parked under cover,secure,and away from the public.We have 6 months invested already so what's another month or so.A little upset.

 

Well, the delivery proceeded as planned. Baby and Father are doing just fine.

I picked mine up on Friday (I WILL be posting pics -- away from my camera right now) and LOVE IT!!!! Utter joy. The handling is SMOOOTH and FAAST and I had smiles in every corner. I now see those signs with the bends notifying of corners and grin. I've never had a car such as this and I now can't imagine driving ANYTHING else. I'M IN LOVE! (over 500 miles already).

ps. Just for the record, this is the first email I've typed on NAM with so many CAPS, but my enthusiasm just can't be contained in these little letters.

Here's my baby -- still need a name, but I am elated with the car and absolutely love it!! EDIT: Okay, these are REALLY small, so I will have to figure a better way of posting them. They are in my gallery if that helps.

been 6 days and not single wave.

 

I think I'm currently 1 for 5 not a good rate, but I was excited for the one wave!

 

I've passed many MINIs on the road since getting mine 2 weeks ago, but I have yet to see anyone wave. But, then, I'm letting them go first!!

 

So have we disbanded since we've all gotten our MINIs . I got a wave the other day and it made my day -- very sporty blue with white stripes MINI. I will promise to keep waving even it's the first wave. Perhaps some of these people don't know it's the thing to do and are at first shocked and don't have time to respond. Back in the day I had a an old Jeep and the first time I drove it I did not wave because I did not know that they waved to each other.

Keep the faith and keep the wave.
