from my MA-
"...this is the response that I got from our regional management:

We are still waiting for the EPA certification of the 2009 MY Cooper S & Cooper S Cm. As soon as we get the approval, we'll ship them."

So the EPA is holding up shipments out of the VDC.

Would someone please shoot me, and then the MINI executive who didn't line this up ahead of time?

Wait that doesn't make sense... Cally95 is picking up his car on the 25th according to his last post. Are they just giving a line of BS?

 

Can't tell from Cally95's signature if the car is an "S" or not. According to my MA, the delay is with those vehicles.

Well Id rather it be that then it was damaged in shipment as a delay after all its been 12 days how ever dosent explain the JCW 09's that were there when I ordered and Im sure but will now have to look again on the 10+ that were shipped to my dealer is any were S.

Mine is NOT an "S", it is just a MC. Not to worry anyone but that sounds wierd! I know MC's are very different from MCS, but I find that odd. On the other hand I am ignorant when it comes to what really goes on at the VDC.

Are the other 09's that arrived at your dealer already all MC or are some MCS?

Oh! and by the way I am female - no worries!!!

UPDATE - I saw the post re: "Bad news the 09's MCS & MCCS" As much as it sucks and I am sorry, at least it's just some stupid clinch. Hang in there they will be correcting it soon and you guys will be off motoring soon enough.

 

There was a group of us who's vehicles were claimed to be loaded the morning of 9/5, On the evening of 9/4 the ship left southhampton and at that time I noticed that there was an red (*) after the vin #'s of the vehicals that were not yet loaded, Im now wondering if these are the cars that are being tested by the EPA

With the exception of this small group everone elses minis are being delivered as scheduled

 

Pretty sure mine was loaded normally. It wasn't one of those Batman MINIs that got on the boat after it left.

My MA says all 4 of the customer-built MCSs he had on order at the same time as mine (8/31 completion) are delayed as well.

 

I don't think this is the case. Mine was loaded on the 4th (no bat mobile option ) and it's still stuck at either the port or the vdc... By the way, my port is the one in GA.

 

Your in a different load even though you were on the same ship. The EPA tests are being done on a batch of cars that entered NJ Port you would not be effected by this. The hold up you are experiancing is probably that it hasen't cleared customs yet (they forget to mention this part ), then it gets released to the VDC which could be as little as a day provided that nothings wrong, transport time will vary depending how far your dealer is from the VDC.
The EPA test is not holding up delivery of all MINIS just the ones that they are using for testing. BMW 2009 Release date is for BMW not MINI. My dealer has been receiving 2009 MINIS (both MC & MCS )and makeing delivery's since 9/16 this was from the group that came in on 9/13 and later.

In any case hopefully we will all be driving one by next week

 

The weather here stinks, its been raining since I picked her up so you cant get the jist of how beautiful she is, but she is. I love the anthricite headliner too. I was a little nervous about it being to dark w/o a sunroof...but it is awesome.

Oh! I asked my MA what he knew about the EPA hold up and he appeared to be surprised.

Dont worry..... you will be getting yours soon and I want to see lots of pics!! I will take more when we have a pretty day.

GOOD NEWS: Anyone who's vehicle was held up in NJ by the EPA test. They have been offically relased to the carrier.

My MA says the system now shows arrival at dealership on Monday 9/29. MA is out on Tues, so I guess I'm looking at Wed. 10/1
