Ready to Take the Leap into MINIdom!
Well, after months and months of lurking, I've decided to come out of hiding to say hello.
What a great website this is ~ I've learned tons of stuff and have had many, many laughs at the threads. So thank you, all of you, for being so devoted to this site.
I've wanted a MINI for years...ever since I lived in London for a year in 1987, in fact...and I'm not a car-nut at all, but I've decided my soul will not rest until I have one.
After hours and hours of research, more hours of agonizing whether or not to part with my beloved old car, I think I've finally made the decision to take the leap and buy a used MINI. I have my sights set on a 2005 JustaCooper, PW/B, 5-Speed and may test drive it this week. It has everything I'd like, so I've got my fingers crossed....gulp.
I'm sure I'll be back with lots of questions, but I just wanted to say howdy for now. I'm looking forward to my first rally!

Welcome to NAM; you won't find many people here disagreeing with your choice. One of the few downsides to the phenomenal resale value of our favorite cars is that a used MINI isn't all that much less than a brand new one. However, 2005 was an excellent year for the R50 (and the other flavors too). Even people who aren't 'car' people tend to go a little nuts after driving a MINI.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone.
Found out the MINI I wanted sold immediately (hours after it was listed), so my search continues...
Now I just need to buy a helicopter to transport me to the seller in minutes, before someone else grabs it! Yikes.
I'll keep you posted....
