Well I've been on the forums here for a few weeks posting random questions and remarks and I have finally ordered my Mini. Just made the trip to Downtown Mini here in orlando to order my chili red w/ white top. I kind of have a limited budget so I just stuck with the basics but am still throughly excited! My MA will be calling within the next day or so with my production number and he says it will be here late October hopefully. I can hardly believe this day has come and I'm so stoked I don't think I"ll sleep tonight.

Nope, it was Kent. I saw Britney when I was there though. /sigh I just am getting up for work and I think I only got 4 hours of sleep and I have over 10 weeks to go before my Mini get here. Hope every night isn't like this....

Congrats Mike - the wait is GRUELING! I do sleep - however - MINI is ALways on my mind!! I have MINI dreams!! I am hoping to have my baby by the end of this month or first week in Sept.! Once it starts production, you'll be obsessed with calling the Ask-Mini hotline! Good luck and Congrats again!

 

It's neat because there are only 4 people that know so my plan is to keep it a secret until it gets here to surprise my family and friends. It's gonna be hard though

 

Okay, so today I just got my production number and registered with the Owners Lounge. I looked under the Order Details and the car is completely wrong. It says it's Mellow Yellow when it should be Chili Red and has a few other options I did not choose. So clearly this is not my car. So should I call the dealership or are the details straightened out when it actually is given a production week?

 

Wait a bit, the OL will correct itself with your order details.

Or call your MA and bug him, if it makes you feel better. The OL system is usually 2 or 3 days late.

Congratulations on your MINI order. It is even better when you take delivery.

 

Mine was the same way when I first looked it up in the OL but a couple days later everything was correct.

The dealer had probably already configured a car for your production slot. Since you took over that production #, it'll take a couple days for everything to update in the system. No worries!

Just logged in today and the information is now correct on the car. Right now it just says "On Order" so I'm assuming once it goes to production it will tell me the week?

 

Well the OL won't tell you a production week #, but it will tell you when your in production(a couple days after the fact). If you call ASK-MINI you can talk to a rep and get more production info from them which will be more up to date than OL.

 

Congrat's Mike on your purchase. We just ordered ours on August 8th. I believe you and I have the same production week (37). We can be "stoked" together (along with all the others awaiting their Minis).

It's great that you've gotten your production week already. Cincinnati Mini still hasn't received my week yet, and I got my production number back in July.

Yes I was delightfully surprised to find out my production week already. Have you tried call the Ask Mini hotline. They are really friendly and they are the ones who looked into the system to give me the production week. The Owner's Lounge wasn't really helpful in that respect.

 

Yea, Ask MINI still doesn't have a week number, but I'll try again tomorrow.

 

Hrm that's odd, I'm not overly familiar with the process but a month to even get a production date seems a little to lengthy. Maybe I was just lucky.
