New member checking in from Denver

Hello all!

I've FINALLY got the car I want... Mini Paceman JCW! I've been waiting for AWD in a mini since the '02 or '03 era. I just couldn't see replacing my truck for a fwd car - knowing full well the car has to do everything the truck did. I haven't quite figured out how I'm going to move a couch with it... but I'm sure that will come in time.

So when the Paceman was announced last year, within a day I was in the local dealership asking how my name could be put on the list. And when they announced the JCW before the Pacemans were available to be ordered... well... I know my mind was made up! After a long wait (about 10 years) I finally have the car I always wanted. 2drAWDturboMINIawesomeness!

I guess I should have started this whole conversation mentioning that I'm 6'7" tall. While the mini is literally my only option for a sporty awd, I would have picked this anyway over the regular crowd of hot hatches. This thing HANDLES!

The funniest thing as of yet... I was talking with a friend of mine and her boyfriend about how excited I was to get a Mini. She's looking at me in disbelief - "why in the hell are you getting a Mini???" "I'm compensating ". I hope each and every one of you get to watch someone piece together an objectionable puzzle right before your eyes. It took her about 10 seconds and I saw the whole slew of different facial expressions until she just coughed and looked away. Her boyfriend sarcastically said "well lucky you!".

Anyway, here's Nikki. We have about 350 miles on since Friday night when I picked her up. And cosmetically I'm getting the JCW design package (red caps, red scoops), a short antenna, and the front driving lights. Can't wait!!! And I promise - better pics soon.

I used to know a guy in the Denver area about that height and I too would have laughed about him getting a MINI. He struggled to fit into a Durango although that was about 12 years ago.

The vehicle I traded in was an '00 Dakota quad cab... I struggled with that one too! It's sooooooooooooooo nice to be able to put my arm out the window again (and not have it hit the back of the window).

That is a sweeet looking Paceman. I get my Paceman next week (i hope) and I debated for ever on the color. The blue and the red are both beautiful, but I ended up with the red. Congrats on your new ride.
