Thanks for the responses! I know for a fact I will love this car! I am coming from driving a 2000 Saturn, practical (32 MPG) but not fun at all. I am looking forward to driving a manual again, my last manual was the 1970 MGB I drove about 7 yrs ago.

My Mini was off loaded 10-8 from the Sierra Nevada and have been told that once it clears the VDC it will be 3-4 days on a truck and a day or 2 at the dealer before I can get it.

Understanding boss for sure! Good luck Mike and post pic's when you get back from motoring!

[quote=Red_Fred;2503150]My MINI was of-loaded from the Don Quijote on Sunday 9/29 and I picked him up at the dealer on the following Saturday. Port of entry was Jersey City and the dealership is just outside of Baltimore, so it wasn't a long trip from the VDC to the dealer. I didn't have anything extra added to the car at the VDC or dealer, so that could account for how quickly mine was delivered.

Congrats, that was really quick!

Its good to see our week 37 Mini's are being delivered to everyone finally!

Kelly,
I called my MA a couple days ago (I was really hoping to have it this weekend) but he said car is at the VDC and best guess was at the dealer 10/15. I'm leaving the country that day and won't be back until the 26th so we talked about the safekeeping of the car until I return. He said he would call early next week if any news.

What's the latest on yours?

Aww, what a bummer! Did they give you any indication as to the hold up?

I happen to have an MA who has sub-par communication skills and doesn't believe in emails. Due to my newly developed OCD and superior sluething skills, I know that my Mini has arrived at the dealership as of today. I happened to go to dealer website and saw my vin (which I now have memorized- how pitiful is that?) listed on their inventory.

I placed a call to him yesterday but he hasn't returned my call. They appear to be slow on delivery because TylerCrox was on the Southern Hwy too with the same dealer and his Mini has been at the dealer for a few days now and they told him he couldn't pick up until next week.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that possibly things will move a little sooner for you.

When I picked up my 2009 MCSa last week, there were no tools in the styrofoam holder under the floor of the trunk (boot). I mentioned it to my sales rep. She said they usually come in to dealers along with the cars, but not in the boot, and that sometimes during dealer prep they fail to put them in. She went into the service dept. and got them for me before I left, so I have the tow hook, tire iron, folding chock, jack, etc., even though I have run flats.

My Clubman is not here yet either. After following the thread about the missing Black headliners I am wondering if any one is getting the headliner that they ordered? I ordered black and will probably will not take the Gray if it is installed.

Moe- This headliner issue really stinks for the clubbies. If it happens that you don't have the AH, are you refusing delivery or wait to have the problem fixed when they come back into stock?
Have you received any info on estimated delivery from VDC?

My MA finally called with some good news, Finnigan is at the dealer and he's "trying" for delivery on Tuesday eve. I'm going to stop by tomorrow to make sure everything is as ordered and check him out.

Kelltpgh, Wife and I are not sure what our response will be if the AH is not installed. The only options we did not change a thousand times was the AH, interior chrome rings, and English oak trim. If I take delivery w/o the AH what are the odds it will be retrofitted in a timely, and quality way? If I don't take delivery then all the financial agreements will exceed their time limites, (ie favoriable Carmax appraisal- 7 days, Credit Union locked low interest rate - 30 days and almost expired). Once i've taken delivery I have lost all leverage, other than whinning about it on the forums. For us - perhaps it is a sign. ajm

I hear you but if you had them put everything in writing as far as replacement to your satisfaction??? Its been such a long wait for you and to have this happen, well, its not fair.
I didn't get the AH with the config I decided to go with but certainly considered it with other color options. I know many feel its a dealbreaker not having it and certainly understand. I really hope it comes in the way you want/ordered it and it works out for you... keep us posted on your progress.

Great news Kelly that Finnigan is almost home!!!

Moe-Jiller, I'm not sure how the AH will play out for me either. I'd like to have it but probably won't be a deal breaker. MA called today and didn't mention it. Maybe there will be a supply by the time I take delivery later in the month.

Have fun this weekend to all those who are motoring! Perfect weather in Texas for long drive!

It's truly amazing driving, though it sucked bringing Bronwyn home the ONE day it rains! I'll take photos once we have a good sunny day -- maybe this weekend.

Cheers!
LOL I know! We don't have rain for over a month straight and it POURS the day I'm to pick up Bianca. Luckily for me, while Neil was going through the PDI it cleared up, so I didn't have to drive her home through the rain. Unfortunately, the next morning while I was driving to work at 5:45 on GA 400 it was drizzling pretty heavily and I couldn't remember how to do more than intermittent on the windshield wipers! I kept praying that the drizzle wouldn't turn into rain, or I'd have to pull over and pull out the manual!

I know the feeling, napria. I don't think I'm all that dense, but I've had the manual out about 100 times since bringing Fred home, trying to remember what my MA told me about the basic stuff. Truth is that I was feeling so overstimulated when I picked him up that it's lucky I remembered anything he said.

What do you think about the ambient lighting? I'm still having a ball playing with the different colors although I'm somewhat partial to blue.

Well - The speculation is over for me. My MA call to say the car was delivered today and said the invoice matched the order. I asked him to visually check and of course - no AH. Will go see the yet unclaimed car Saturday. I did not even ask if the roof rails were there. July order, Week 37 build, no AH. ajm

The Vin is correct. The window sticker was $250 lower and no AH. Elaine and I visited the car for a little while but had to walk away. MOM says they will look into the matter but no resolution was offered today. I took a few pictures but do not know how to add them to a thread. To my taste the roof rails make the longer roof line look very good. I sent you a regular email with the photos. ajm

Hi, I've been "lurking" around NAM for quite some time, and mostly reading the week 37 post. Sorta went through the ups and downs of everyone following their MINIs on the boats and what not . The wait was long but I finally got my week 37 build today. Can't wait to go past 4,000 rpm! Good luck to all those who are waiting, it was a fun ride, and worth it, I wanna see more photos. Now I gots to post some of my own!

Oh btw, me and the GF had an ongoing joke on how we got a huge deal on the car by scoring some free rubber floor mats!

Thanks the pics look great, I hope they will be able to work it out and fix all the items on your list. I would think the AH should be able to be switched, since they do get replaced when damaged.

First "Experience"

Well, I had my first real "experience" with my MINI today. I was at Best Buy with my husband and kids and when we walked out I noticed a man, woman and teenage boy walking towards Bianca. They walked right up and were leaning against her and peering in. As I approached I heard the man say, "Wow, look at the size of the speedometer!" I walked up behind him and said, "Yeah, it's huge, isn't it?" He turned around and asked if this is my car. From there we had quite a conversation. It turns out that his wife is from Scotland and grew up with MINIs. They really liked the car and asked lots of questions. In the meantime, my husband and kids got in and were already acting like bored celebrities. When we were done talking, I got in the car and my 10 year old daughter said, "Mom, you've got to tell them 'no pictures, please'"

That's awesome, napria! Great "experience".

Mine happened at church today. A lady had to watch me get in because she wasn't sure that I'd fit - I'm a lanky 6'2". To her pleasant surprise, I did so quite easily.

Greg,

I did and he's beautiful! Its amazing how calm I am now that I know he's here and everything's okay! I'm scheduled tentatively for delivery on Tuesday evening. If they get the paperwork in and the graphic installed tomorrow, we may go tomorrow evening. My husband's schedule works better tomorrow but I'm not counting on it and Tuesday is fine with me! My camera was in for repairs so I don't have any pics yet but I picked up the camera today and I promise some pictures after I pick him up. He looks just like Christianbski's above photo's minus the bonnet stripes right now... great to have another laser blue in our week by the way!

I saw the pic of Bella in your gallery. She's a stunner! Let's hope for a quick week for you.
