Diagnostic Code 1477 - Leakage Diagnostic Pump Reed Switch Did Not Open

Does anybody know anything about Diagnostic Code P1477 - Leakage Diagnostic Pump Reed Switch Did Not Open? I can't seem to find anything written up on it so that I know what to fix. What the heck is a "Diagnostic Pump" anyway?

Thanks

I only know Chrylser and Hyundai evap systems, but MINI must use a pump to pull a vacuum to leak check?

Anyway - welcome to NAM! How many miles are on your MINI? What year is it? A quick call to your dealer will tell you if your emission warranty has expired and if that diagnostic/repair will be covered.

The Leak Diagnostic Pump is number 3 in this illustration...

...it's back near the gas tank...and as shown, on the same bracket as the carbon filter.

Thank you VERY, VERY, VERY much. I will go check it out and try to find the problem. I think I will order the Bently manual as well, I have the Haynes (brit version) and it's help is somewhat limmited.
