All aboard the INTEGRITY | Departs 8/1 to NY

I just found out my MINI Cooper Clubman S is on board the Integrity scheduled for arrival in NY on 8/11!

For those of you that are interesting in tracking the ship's progress, here's a link:

http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shi...l?call=WDC6925

The Integrity's call sign is WDC6925.

My Dealer is Mini of the Hamptons - I live in Phoenix, AZ (another story to come.. )

Who else is on board?

Sit back? I'm now in the mode of making travel arrangements to pick up my Clubman in NY. I live in Phoenix but am planning a long, leisurely (and twisty) 10 day trip back to Phoenix - not using any freeways if I can help it. I've had several long conversations with the Service Manager at my MINI dealer here in Arizona. He's assured me that a long trip like this is fine for my Clubman as long as I follow a few guidelines...

So, I'm off to google maps to do the planning and will be posting the route on NAM in case anyone has any suggestions as to "must see/stop" locations along the way. I plan to update my blog daily, with info and pictures along the way. I wonder how many fellow MINI owners I'll be able to meet and take photos with along the way?

That said, YES - it is comforting to know that our MINIs have their tickets for the boat ride and will soon be here in the US!

Wow! I'm jealous...nothing like a 10-day, cross-country drive for you to get to know your new mini!

Are you picking it up at a dealership over here, or directly at the VDC?

Anyone been able to track INTEGRITY? Tracked it until it was out of Southhampton range then nothing except last voyage.

Yeah probably. How often do you think they update? Once a day?

Edit: Nevermind - just looked it up myself. It seems to be 3-4 updates per day judging from its previous voyages.

When I fly international we report every 10 degree of longitude but I think it is time with ships, 12 hrs unless a special wx report is requested

The Blue Ridge Parkway is one of the premier drives in the USA and that will lead you to the "Tail of the Dragon" You can google for more info.

My parents and brother live just South of Charlotte and I'd be drawn and quartered if I didn't stop by and show them my new car. I grew up in NC and until now, have never heard of "Tail of the Dragon". You can be certain I'll be heading toward Asheville and the "Tail" when I leave my parents!

Thanks for the post
William

Well, here we are - 7 days and counting! I've noticed that the ship is making good progress and has been updating frequently... So far, the weather ahead of the ship looks good!

I just got back from vacation and saw that my baby is also on the Integrity. I'm so excited and can't wait for his arrival.

Did some research on the Tail of the Dragon, looks like an awesome road. Something like 80 turns in 11 miles. The downer is that they changed the speed limit from 50 to 30 and its crawling with cops.

I would guess its a little over half way now. It's about 220 miles from Newfoundland as of this morning.

Considering it's a 10 day trip and this is day 5, that's a pretty good guess!

Take a look at the life boat on the rear! BOY - would that be a ride to eject off at that angle!
